Brown fat detection by infrared thermography—An invaluable research methodology with noteworthy uncertainties confirmed by a mathematical proof

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 6, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Infrared detection by thermal camera obeys Stefan's law of radiative heat transfer. This associated uncertainty in detection is estimated by the formula of propagation of error. Abstract Brown adipose tissue (BAT) represents a pivotal scientific renaissance worthy as a strategy for obesity and diabetes since its re‐discovery in adults over a decade ago.

Functional activity of peptide ion channels in tethered bilayer lipid membranes: Review

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, Volume 2, Issue 6, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Ion transport across biomembranes plays a major role in living cells. This fundamental function is normally carried out by molecules with both a hydrophobic and a hydrophilic side (amphiphilic molecules), which aggregate within the membrane forming a hydrophilic pore (the ion channel) permitting the selective translocation of permeant ions ...

Anion‐cation double‐substitution endows iron sulfide with remarkably enhanced specific capacity and rate performance as anode for supercapacitors

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
The effective strategy of anion (P) and cation (Ni) double‐substitution along with the incorporation of graphene nanosheets greatly improves the electrochemical performances of iron sulfide. An aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor is fabricated with the NiFeSP/G and NiCo‐LDH/G as the anode and cathode, respectively.

Adaptive Quantization for Key Generation in Low-Power Wide-Area Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Physical layer key generation based on reciprocal and random wireless channels has been an attractive solution for securing resource-constrained low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs). When quantizing channel measurements, namely received signal strength indicator (RSSI), into key bits, the existing works mainly adopt fixed quantization levels and guard
