Chirality Induced Spin Selectivity – the Photoelectron View

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 62, Issue 11-12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract In this short overview we discuss the manifestation of the chirality‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect in photoelectron spectroscopy experiments with direct spin analysis. Various systems, from the initially investigated monolayers of molecular biosystems and organic hepta‐helicene to recent chirally grown solid oxide films, are evaluated.

High‐Speed Hyperspectral Imaging for Near Infrared Fluorescence and Environmental Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a fast hyperspectral imaging method in the near‐infrared range (HyperNIR). Combining tunable polarization optics with a phasor‐based approach, HyperNIR captures detailed spectral information with just three images. The applicability is showcased by distinguishing NIR fluorophores that are separated by 5 nm.

Intelligent system for depression scale estimation with facial expressions and case study in industrial intelligence

open access: yesInternational Journal of Intelligent Systems, Volume 37, Issue 12, Page 10140-10156, December 2022., 2022
Abstract As a mental disorder, depression has affected people's lives, works, and so on. Researchers have proposed various industrial intelligent systems in the pattern recognition field for audiovisual depression detection. This paper presents an end‐to‐end trainable intelligent system to generate high‐level representations over the entire video clip.

Manipulation of Ferroic Orders via Continuous Biaxial Strain Engineering in Multiferroic Bismuth Ferrite

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the evolution of ferroelectric (FE) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) orders in freestanding BiFeO3 films under anisotropic strain using rotational anisotropy second harmonic generation (RA‐SHG) and first‐principles calculations. The research reveals reversible control of in‐plane FE polarization and significant AFM order rotation ...

Optimal Controller and Quantizer Selection for Partially Observable Linear-Quadratic-Gaussian Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In networked control systems, often the sensory signals are quantized before being transmitted to the controller. Consequently, performance is affected by the coarseness of this quantization process. Modern communication technologies allow users to obtain resolution-varying quantized measurements based on the prices paid.

On Constrained Randomized Quantization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Randomized (dithered) quantization is a method capable of achieving white reconstruction error independent of the source. Dithered quantizers have traditionally been considered within their natural setting of uniform quantization. In this paper we extend conventional dithered quantization to nonuniform quantization, via a subterfage: dithering is ...

Lipid Droplets Metabolism Mediated by ANXA7‐PPARγ Signaling Axis Regulates Spinal Cord Injury Repair in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work proposes a new mechanism for the regulation of LDs metabolism by ANXA7/PPARγ. ANXA7 can interact with PPARγ to promote its stability. ANXA7 activation promotes PPARγ nuclear translocation, thus promoting LDs formation and interaction with mitochondria by promoting PLIN5 expression.

Hardware-Limited Task-Based Quantization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Quantization plays a critical role in digital signal processing systems. Quantizers are typically designed to obtain an accurate digital representation of the input signal, operating independently of the system task, and are commonly implemented using serial scalar analog-to-digital converters (ADCs).

Solution‐Processable Van Der Waals Heterojunctions on Silicon for Self‐Powered Photodetectors with High Responsivity and Detectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports an all‐solution processable fabrication approach for fabricating Ti3C2Tx/Cu3(HHTP)2/n‐Si heterojunction as self‐powered photodetectors through the consecutive spray coating a Cu3(HHTP)2 and Ti3C2Tx thin films on n‐type silicon surface, as formed self‐supplied photodetector reveals exceptional responsivity and detectivity.

C1q+ Macrophage–Tumor Cell Interaction Promoted Tumorigenesis via GPR17/PI3K/AKT Pathway Induced DNA Hypermethylation in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the TME of NPC, C1q secreted by C1q+ TAMs interacted with GPR17 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling through strengthening GPR17 coupling PI3K and increasing calcium levels in tumor cells. The activated PI3K/AKT signaling further induces DNA hypermethylation to promote the malignancy and stemness of tumor cells.
