Modelling protein-protein interactions for the design of vaccine chimeric antigens with protective epitopes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Ticks and tick-borne diseases are a growing burden worldwide and vaccines are effective control interventions. Vaccine formulations with tick antigens such as BM86/BM95 (BM) and Subolesin (SUB) have shown reduction in tick fitness and infestation in ...

Real‐Time In Vivo Visualization of Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Reprogramming Using a Nitric Oxide‐Activatable NIR‐II Nanoinducer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Reprogramming tumor‐associated macrophages is a promising therapeutic strategy for solid tumors. Here, a nitric oxide (NO)‐activatable NIR‐II fluorescence/photoacoustic nanoinducer (I/E@M2pep) that simultaneously facilitates and visualizes the repolarization of TAMs to an M1‐like phenotype is reported, thereby enhancing anti‐tumor efficacy through M1 ...

A quantum machine learning framework for predicting drug sensitivity in multiple myeloma using proteomic data

open access: yesScientific Reports
In this paper, we introduce QProteoML, a new quantum machine learning (QML) framework for predicting drug sensitivity in Multiple Myeloma (MM) using high-dimensional proteomic data. MM, an extremely heterogeneous condition, displays often mixed responses

Efficient Implementation of Keyless Signatures with Hash Sequence Authentication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present new ideas for decreasing the size of secure memory needed for hardware implementations of hash-sequence based signatures proposed recently by Buldas, Laanoja and Truu (in the following referred to as BLT).

Dual‐Mode Type I/II Photosensitization of a Stable Mesoporous Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework for Antibacterial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A π‐conjugated donor–acceptor PDI monomer undergoes hydrogen‐bonded self‐assembly to form a robust mesoporous framework. The ordered molecular arrangement promotes efficient intersystem crossing and charge separation, leading to simultaneous Type I and Type II reactive oxygen species generation with a high singlet oxygen quantum yield.

Selenium‐Based Nanoplatforms: An Emerging Theranostic Paradigm for Gynecological Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This reivew summarizes Selenium as a multifunctional anticancer regulator in gynecological cancers. It reduces tumor risk, enhances therapeutic efficacy, and reduces treatment toxicity. Selenium also overcomes chemoraditherapy resistance, improving overall treatment outcomes. ABSTRACT Gynecological cancers present significant therapeutic challenges due

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...
