Quantum Cryptography as an Approach for Teaching Quantum Physics

2021
Quantum physics is not only a fundamental physical theory but recently it promises big technological advances in the so-called 2nd quantum revolution, especially in quantum information. These advances rely on the basic research done since about 1980 while looking for a clarification of the fundamentals of quantum physics.

Approaches on T/L Quantum Physics from PER Literature

2021
Quantum mechanics has a paradigmatic role in twentieth-century physics for the theoretical foundation of the description of the world and important application and technological implications relevant also in everyday life. The Physics Education Research (PER) from many decades carried out researches on Teaching/Learning Quantum Physics (QP) from many ...

Quantum information approach to the foundations of quantum physics and spacetime

2021
This thesis applies methods and concepts from quantum information theory (QIT) to investigate the foundations of quantum physics and spacetime. The process matrix formalism allows to describe indefinite causal structures. This thesis develops a systematic combination of process matrices and quantum clocks.

From Quantum Physics to Programming Languages: A Process Algebraic Approach

2005
Research in quantum computation is looking for the consequences of having information encoding, processing and communication exploit the laws of quantum physics, i.e. the laws of the ultimate knowledge that we have, today, of the foreign world of elementary particles, as described by quantum mechanics. After an introduction to the principles of quantum

A synthetic approach to the transfer matrix method in classical and quantum physics

European Journal of Physics, 2007
The aim of this paper is to propose a synthetic approach to the transfer matrix method in classical and quantum physics. This method is an efficient tool to deal with complicated physical systems of practical importance in geometrical light or charged particle optics, classical electronics, mechanics, electromagnetics and quantum physics.

Individual samples, preparations, and states in Piron's approach to quantum physics

Foundations of Physics, 1994
The mathematical description of the three distinct fundamental notions of “individual sample” of “preparing procedure,” and of “Piron's state” of a physical entity are precisely introduced in the framework of the Piron's “preparation-question structure” (without specific axioms C, P, A) based on Ludwig's “selection structure.” We compare our ...

The Dialogic Approach to Modalities in the Language of Quantum Physics

1981
In this lecture I will present an approach to quantum modal logic which is based on a meta-linguistic interpretation of the modalities and which makes use of a proof-theoretical semantics. The meta-linguistic approach to modalities goes back to Carnap and has been used by several authors. It seems to be very appropriate for the present problem.

A Quantum Physics Approach for Enabling Information-Theoretic Secure Communication Channels [PDF]

open access: possible
Quantum communication, a field of applied quantum physics, is closely tied to quantum teleportation and quantum information processing, with a primary focus on leveraging the laws of quantum mechanics to secure communication systems. An intriguing application within this field is the protection of information channels from unauthorized eavesdropping ...

A new approach to Ermakov systems and applications in quantum physics

The European Physical Journal Special Topics, 2008
Milne–Pinney equation \(\ddot x=-\omega^2(t)x+ k/{x^3}\) is usually studied together with the time-dependent harmonic oscillator \(\ddot y+\omega^2(t) y=0\) and the system is called Ermakov system, and actually Pinney showed in a short paper that the general solution of the first equation can be written as a superposition of two solutions of the ...
