Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Production Using TiO2/Mn‐CdS Photoanode with ZnS Passivation and CoPi as Hole Transfer Relay

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
The electrode features TiO2 as a stable UV‐absorbing substrate, Mn‐doped CdS to extend light absorption into the visible range, ZnS to prevent CdS photocorrosion, and an outer cobalt phosphate (CoPi) that catalyzes oxygen evolution, efficiently enhancing hole transfer from the photoanode to the electrolyte.

Strong Proton‐Phonon Coupling Drives Fast Ion Transport in Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Experimental and computational phonon analysis of ABO3‐type proton conductor BaSnO3 shows that substitution on the B‐site with yttrium forms an imaginary phonon mode which is instrumental for the function as proton conductor. This overcompensates the adverse proton trapping effect of the yttrium.

Burn‐Safe Biodegradable Magnetocaloric Composites for Temperature‐Controlled Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work investigates a magnetocaloric (Mn,Fe)2(P,Si) compound tailored for precise, self‐regulating heating in biomedical use. With a Curie temperature tuned at 43 °C, it enables therapeutic activation without overheating. Encapsulation in a composite ensures controlled temperature rise under an alternating magnetic field (AMF), with high ...

Magnetic Anisotropy Modulation via van der Waals Gap Engineering in 2D Ferromagnet Fe4GeTe2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a new route to control magnetic anisotropy in 2D ferromagnets via van der Waals gap engineering. In Fe4GeTe2, an interface‐induced vdW gap expansion is found to anomalously enhance in‐plane magnetic anisotropy while suppressing the spin reorientation transition.

Unanticipated Interfacial Redox Reaction in the NiOx Transport Layer of Perovskite Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the unanticipated interfacial redox reaction between NiOx and perovskite, which is characterized by XPS. This redox reaction is one of the primary reasons for the bias‐induced instability of PeLEDs and is particularly suppressed by simply applying an interface layer between NiOx and perovskite.

Bacteriophage‐Mimetic DNA Origami Needle for Targeted Membrane Penetration and Cytosolic Cargo Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We designed a synthetic DNA origami needle‐like structure inspired by bacteriophages for targeted drug delivery. Functionalized with trastuzumab antibodies, cholesterol, and dyes, it selectively targets SKBR3 cancer cells. A glutathione‐triggered dye payload enables controlled release, and delivery is verified using confocal microscopy and live cell ...

Effective prime factorization via quantum annealing by modular locally-structured embedding

Scientific Reports, 2023
This paper investigates novel techniques to solve prime factorization by quantum annealing (QA). First, we present a very-compact modular encoding of a multiplier circuit into the architecture of current D-Wave QA devices.
