Approaches for approximate additivity of the Holevo information of quantum channels [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2017
We study quantum channels that are close to another channel with weakly additive Holevo information and derive upper bounds on their classical capacity.

Constructing a virtual two-qubit gate by sampling single-qubit operations

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
We show a certain kind of non-local operations can be simulated by sampling a set of local operations with a quasi-probability distribution when the task of a quantum circuit is to evaluate an expectation value of observables.

Capacity Bounds via Operator Space Methods

open access: yes, 2017
Quantum capacity, as the ultimate transmission rate of quantum communication, is characterized by regularized coherent information. In this work, we reformulate approximations of the quantum capacity by operator space norms and give both upper and lower ...

Experimental investigation of pulsed entangled photons and photonic quantum channels

open access: yes, 2002
The development of key devices and systems in quantum information technology, such as entangled particle sources, quantum gates and quantum cryptographic systems, requires a reliable and well-established method for characterizing how well the devices or ...

Experimental demonstration of a measurement-based realisation of a quantum channel

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
We introduce and experimentally demonstrate a method for realising a quantum channel using the measurement-based model. Using a photonic setup and modifying the basis of single-qubit measurements on a four-qubit entangled cluster state, representative ...

Volume of the space of qubit-qubit channels and state transformations under random quantum channels [PDF]

open access: yesReviews in Mathematical Physics, 30(10), 1850019. (2018), 2017
The simplest building blocks for quantum computations are the qubit-qubit quantum channels. In this paper, we analyze the structure of these channels via their Choi representation. The restriction of a quantum channel to the space of classical states (i.e. probability distributions) is called the underlying classical channel.

The Regulation of Trace Metal Elements in Cancer Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The induction of ferroptosis inhibits tumor growth, enhances anticancer efficacy, and overcomes drug resistance. Recent evidence shows nonferrous metal elements play a role in ferroptosis. This review focuses on how trace metals regulate ferroptosis processes like iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense.

Performance Analysis of Quantum Channels [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications, 2018
We study the quality of service in quantum channels. We regard the quantum channel as a queueing system, and present queueing analysis of both the classical information transmission and quantum information transmission in the quantum channel.

Behavior of Quantum Correlations under Local Noise

open access: yes, 2011
We characterize the behavior of quantum correlations under the influence of local noisy channels. Intuition suggests that such noise should be detrimental for quantumness. When considering qubit systems, we show for which channel this is indeed the case:

Learning a quantum channel from its steady-state

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
We present a scalable method for learning local quantum channels using local expectation values measured on a single state—their steady state. Our method is inspired by the algorithms for learning local Hamiltonians from their ground states.
