We explore the coherence and entanglement of two separated quantum dots placed in an open microcavity. The generated entanglement and coherence depend crucially on the two-exciton decay and the initial coherence intensity.

Spectral coherent-state quantum cryptography
Optics Letters, 2008A novel implementation of quantum-noise optical cryptography is proposed, which is based on a simplified architecture that allows long-haul, high-speed transmission in a fiber optical network. By using a single multiport encoder/decoder and 16 phase shifters, this new approach can provide the same confidentiality as other implementations of Yuen's ...

Quantum coherence versus quantum uncertainty
Physical Review A, 2017The notion of measurement is of both foundational and instrumental significance in quantum mechanics, and coherence destroyed by measurements (decoherence) lies at the very heart of quantum to classical transition. Qualitative aspects of this spirit have been widely recognized and analyzed ever since the inception of quantum theory.

Quantum coherence generated by quantum interference
Physical Review A, 1996This paper deals with a system exhibiting quantum interference in the two-photon coupling between its ground state and the continuum through two quasiresonant intermediate levels by two modes of the electromagnetic field. We show that this system can generate quantum coherence among the two field modes, the internal and the external degrees of freedom.

Quantum coherence of multiqubit states in correlated noisy channels
Science China Physics Mechanics and Astronomy, 2018The long-time maintenance of quantum coherence is crucial for its practical applications. We explore decoherence process of a multiqubit system passing through a correlated channel (phase flip, bit flip, bit-phase flip, and depolarizing).

This theory was formulated originally by Glauber [6.1], where he considers the process of photon detection, which plays a central role. The basic process involved in the detection is the absorption of a photon and the corresponding generation of a photoelectron, measured via an electric current.
