Origin of the Laser‐Induced Picosecond Spin Current Across Magnetization Compensation in Ferrimagnetic GdCo

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Picosecond spin current pulses generated by ferrimagnetic GdCo are studied via THz emission spectroscopy. Due to the GdCo micromagnetic structure, the spin current vanishes at compensation when a magnetic field is applied but persists for zero field. At room temperature, the THz spin current is dominated by Co. At low temperatures, Gd can significantly

Femtosecond Pulse Shaping with Semiconductor Huygens' Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Spatially variant silicon Huygens' metasurfaces enable femtosecond pulse shaping by tailoring the spectral phase and amplitude of incident pulses. Two key functionalities are demonstrated: temporal stretching and pulse splitting of an input Gaussian pulse.

Locking in Color: Stable RGB Perovskite Nanocrystal Films via UV Cross‐Linking

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Combining block copolymer stabilized lead halide nanocrystals with a UV light‐based cross‐linking procedure yields ultra‐stable nanocrystal thin films, which are resistant to dissolution by organic solvents and impervious to interlayer ion exchange. This allows for the fabrication of stacked layer RGB all‐perovskite white light‐emitting phosphors with ...
