Almost-quantum correlations violate the isotropy and homogeneity principles in flat space [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
One of fascinating phenomena of nature is quantum nonlocality, which is observed upon measurements on spacelike entangled systems. However, there are sets of post-quantum models which have stronger correlations than quantum mechanics, wherein instantaneous communication remains impossible.

Role of Quantumness of Correlations in Entanglement Resource Theory [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Quantum correlations: entanglement and quantumness of correlations are main resource for quantum information theory. In this chapter it is presented the scenarios which quantumness of correlations plays an interesting role in entanglement distillation protocol.

Stratum Corneum‐Inspired Zwitterionic Hydrogels with Intrinsic Water Retention and Anti‐Freezing Properties for Intelligent Flexible Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel stratum corneum‐inspired zwitterionic hydrogel is developed for intelligent, flexible sensors, featuring intrinsic water retention and anti‐freezing properties. The quasi‐gel, composed of hygroscopic polymers and bound water, maintains its softness across a wide range of humidity.

Extractable Work from Correlations

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2015
Work and quantum correlations are two fundamental resources in thermodynamics and quantum information theory. In this work, we study how to use correlations among quantum systems to optimally store work.

On the Significance of the Quantum Mechanical Covariance Matrix

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
The characterization of quantum correlations, being stronger than classical, yet weaker than those appearing in non-signaling models, still poses many riddles.

Scaling‐Up of Structural Superlubricity: Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
At increasing length‐scales, structural superlubricity (SSL) faces challenges from physical and chemical energy dissipation pathways. This study reviews recent experimental and theoretical progress on these challenges facing the scaling‐up of SSL, as well as perspectives on future directions for realizing and manipulating macroscale superlubricity ...

Quantum Correlations in Mixed-State Metrology

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2011
We analyze the effects of quantum correlations, such as entanglement and discord, on the efficiency of phase estimation by studying four quantum circuits that can be readily implemented using NMR techniques.

The Role of Fluorine‐Functionalized Organic Spacers for Defect Passivation and Low‐Dimensional Phase Formation in 3D MAPI Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorine‐functionalized organic spacers (2F, 3F, 5F) are investigated to identify as optimal passivation agents for 3D MAPI perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The study highlights how altering fluorine positioning affects defect passivation, low‐dimensional phase (LDP) formation, and stability, emphasizing its role in molecular interactions and offering ...
