Quantum correlations and ergotropy

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2022
Understanding the role of classical and quantum correlations in work extraction is a problem of fundamental importance in thermodynamics. We approach this problem by considering that, in closed quantum systems, the maximum cyclic work extractable is equal to the ergotropy.

Correlations, Contextuality and Quantum Logic

Journal of Philosophical Logic, 2013
The authors study states and mixtures of states on simple examples of quantum structures. Particular attention is paid to signaling and deterministic states. Inequalities which distinguish the classical, quantum, and super-quantum approaches are analyzed.

Quantum metrology and quantum correlations

2021
Given a physical system to define a suitable measurement process on it constitutes one of the most crucial and challenging issues in physics. According to the particular theory under consideration, taking measurements has more or fewer subtleties but one ubiquitous concept for every physical theory is the uncertainty.

Quantum amplification with correlated quantum fields

Physical Review A, 1993
Quantum fluctuations of a phase-insensitive amplifier are studied when the quantum fluctuations of the input field are correlated with the amplifier's internal modes. It is found that noise-free quantum amplification can be achieved under certain conditions and only requires finite correlation between the quantum fluctuations of the input field and the

Dynamics of Super Quantum Correlations and Quantum Correlations for a System of Three Qubits

Communications in Theoretical Physics, 2016
Summary: The dynamics of quantum discord for two qubits independently interacting with dephasing reservoirs have been studied recently: \textit{J. P. G. Pinto} et al. [``Sudden change of quantum discord for a system of two qubits'', Phys. Rev. A 88, Article ID 034304 (2013)] found that for some Bell-diagonal states (BDS) which interact with their ...

Quantum Correlations

2019
As we step into the era of quantum technologies, determining whether the correlations between physical systems are quantum or classical plays a fundamental role in our understanding of the physical world and our ability to use such correlations for novel applications.
