Elementary solution to the time-independent quantum navigation problem [PDF]
A quantum navigation problem concerns the identification of a time-optimal Hamiltonian that realizes a required quantum process or task, under the influence of a prevailing ‘background’ Hamiltonian that cannot be manipulated.

High fidelity quantum gates of trapped ions in the presence of motional heating
We describe entangling quantum gates for trapped ions mediated by a dissipative bus mode and show that suitably designed, polychromatic control pulses decrease ion-phonon entanglement substantially while maintaining the mediated interaction.

Entangled multiplets, asymmetry, and quantum Mpemba effect in dissipative systems [PDF]
Recently, the entanglement asymmetry emerged as an informative tool to understand dynamical symmetry restoration in out-of-equilibrium quantum many-body systems after a quantum quench.

Emergent classicality in continuous quantum measurements [PDF]
We develop a classical theoretical description for nonlinear many-body dynamics that incorporates the back-action of a continuous measurement process. The classical approach is compared with the exact quantum solution in an example with an atomic Bose ...

Quantum Dissipative Continuous Time Crystals. [PDF]
Continuous time crystals, i.e., nonequilibrium phases with a spontaneously broken continuous time-translational symmetry, have been studied and recently observed in the long time dynamics of open quantum systems.

Accelerating the approach of dissipative quantum spin systems towards stationarity through global spin rotations [PDF]
We consider open quantum systems whose dynamics is governed by a time-independent Markovian Lindblad Master equation. Such systems approach their stationary state on a timescale that is determined by the spectral gap of the generator of the Master ...

Simulating quantum Brownian motion with single trapped ions [PDF]
We study the open system dynamics of a harmonic oscillator coupled with an artificially engineered reservoir. We single out the reservoir and system variables governing the passage between Lindblad-type and non-Lindblad-type dynamics of the reduced ...

Quantum correlations and limit cycles in the driven-dissipative Heisenberg lattice
Driven-dissipative quantum many-body systems have attracted increasing interest in recent years as they lead to novel classes of quantum many-body phenomena.

Void formation in operator growth, entanglement, and unitarity
The structure of the Heisenberg evolution of operators plays a key role in explaining diverse processes in quantum many-body systems. In this paper, we discuss a new universal feature of operator evolution: an operator can develop a void during its ...
