Dynamically protected cat-qubits: a new paradigm for universal quantum computation

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
We present a new hardware-efficient paradigm for universal quantum computation which is based on encoding, protecting and manipulating quantum information in a quantum harmonic oscillator.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Strong Markov Dissipation in Driven-Dissipative Quantum Systems

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics
Abstract The Lindblad equation, which describes Markovian quantum dynamics under dissipation, is usually derived under the weak system-bath coupling assumption. Strong system-bath coupling often leads to non-Markov evolution. The singular-coupling limit is known as an exception: it yields a Lindblad equation with an arbitrary strength of ...

High‐Performance Flexible Near‐Infrared Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes with a Heterogeneous Alloy Semitransparent Electrode

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a micro‐structured magnesium‐bismuth alloy electrode that enhances flexible NIR OLEDs. The electrode provides 40% broadband transmittance (400–1600 nm) and boosts light outcoupling efficiency (42.3%) and photoluminescence quantum yield (71.8%) through the Purcell effect in optical microcavities.

Quantum Chaotic Attractor in a Dissipative System

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1997
A dissipative quantum system is treated here by coupling it with a heat bath of harmonic oscillators. Through quantum Langevin equations and Ehrenfest's theorem, we establish explicitly the quantum Duffing equations with a double-well potential chosen. A quantum noise term appears the only driving force in dynamics.

Photo‐Reconfigurable Supercoupling Induced Transparency in On‐Chip Topological Edge State Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A novel supercoupling induced transparency (SIT) is demonstrated in a valley‐Hall photonic crystal. The valley vortices enable the supercoupling between a leaky and a guided topological edge state cavity even across a distance of 4.3 wavelengths, inducing a transparency window with negligible reflection.

Level splitting induced by collective interaction in a waveguide QED system

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
In waveguide quantum electrodynamics (QED) systems, noninteracting quantum entities can be coupled through the vacuum field of the waveguide, leading to both coherent and dissipative interactions.

Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.
