Group-velocity slowdown in quantum-dots and quantum-dot molecules [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2014
We investigate theoretically the slowdown of optical pulses due to quantum-coherence effects in InGaAs-based quantum dots and quantum dot molecules. Simple models for the electronic structure of quantum dots and, in particular, quantum-dot molecules are described and calibrated using numerical simulations.

Efficient and stable near-infrared InAs quantum dot light-emitting diodes [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Visible quantum dot light-emitting diodes have satisfied commercial display requirements. However, near-infrared counterparts considerably lag behind due to the inferior quality of near-infrared quantum dots and limitations in device architecture ...

Coupled quantum dots as quantum gates [PDF]

open access: greenPhysical Review B, 1999
We consider a new quantum gate mechanism based on electron spins in coupled semiconductor quantum dots. Such gates provide a general source of spin entanglement and can be used for quantum computers. We determine the exchange coupling J in the effective Heisenberg model as a function of magnetic (B) and electric fields, and of the inter-dot distance (a)

Shared control of a 16 semiconductor quantum dot crossbar array [PDF]

open access: yesNature Nanotechnology, 2022
The efficient control of a large number of qubits is one of the most challenging aspects for practical quantum computing. Current approaches in solid-state quantum technology are based on brute-force methods, where each and every qubit requires at least ...

Quantum teleportation with imperfect quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information, 2021
AbstractEfficient all-photonic quantum teleportation requires fast and deterministic sources of highly indistinguishable and entangled photons. Solid-state-based quantum emitters—notably semiconductor quantum dots—are a promising candidate for the role.

Fabrication of Highly Efficient Perovskite Nanocrystal Light-Emitting Diodes via Inkjet Printing

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
As an effective manufacturing technology, inkjet printing is very suitable for the fabrication of perovskite light-emitting diodes in next-generation displays. However, the unsatisfied efficiency of perovskite light-emitting diode created with the use of

Full-Color Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diodes Based on Microcavities

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
Full-color display is a primary challenge for the commercialization of quantum dots (QDs). In this study, we utilize the spectral narrowing phenomenon of microcavities to fabricate the red, green and blue quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) with a ...

Quantum Dots and Applications [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2020
It is the unique size-dependent band gap of quantum dots (QDs) that makes them so special in various applications. They have attracted great interest, especially in optoelectronic fields such as light emitting diodes and photovoltaic cells, because their photoluminescent characteristics can be significantly improved via optimization of the processes by
