Improving the performance of quantum dot light-emitting diodes by tailoring QD emitters

Nanoscale, 2023
As the emitters of quantum dot light-emitting diodes, quantum dots, which are responsible for the charge injection, charge transportation, and especially exciton recombination, play a significant role in quantum dot light-emitting diodes.

Synthesis of CdTe colloidal quantum dots (QDs) in water

Frontiers of Chemistry in China, 2008
The comparison of growth processes and fluorescent properties of CdTe semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) that are synthesized in water with different modifiers are discussed in this paper. The samples are characterized through ultraviolet-visible spectra (UV-Vis), photoluminescence spectra (PL) and zeta potential.

Subcellular Distribution of CdSe Quantum Dots (QDs) in Breast Cancer Cells

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2012
In spite of great advances in conventional cancer diagnosis and treatment, the early recognition and characterization for various cancers remain a technological bottleneck. The combined characteristics of board absorption and narrow emission make quantum dots (QDs) desirable fluorescent labels for cancer imaging and other applications in the biomedical

Quantum Dots (QDs) Based Fluorescent Sensor for the Selective Determination of Nimesulide

Journal of Fluorescence, 2013
Fluorescent PET (Photoinduced Electron Transfer) has been of particular growth in recent times. A novel PET based fluorescent sensor using unmodified CdSe quantum dots (QDs) has been developed for the trace determination of Nimesulide (NIM). The sensor is based on the selective fluorescence quenching of quantum dots by NIM in presence of other NSAIDs ...

Quantum dots (QDs) based fluorescence probe for the sensitive determination of kaempferol

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2014
In this work, using the quenching of fluorescence of thioglycollic acid (TGA)-capped CdTe quantum dots (QDs), a novel method for the determination of kaempferol (KAE) has been developed. Under optimum conditions, a linear calibration plot of the quenched fluorescence intensity at 552nm against the concentration of KAE was observed in the range of 4 ...

Heating Effects of Colloidal ZnO Quantum Dots (QDs) on ZnO QD/CdSe QD/MoOx Photodetectors

IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, 2017
In this paper, the effects of heat treatment of a colloidal ZnO quantum dot (QD) (diameter ∼1.83–2.43 nm) based electron transport layer (ETL) on the performance of ZnO QD/CdSe QD/MoO x /Ag photodetectors (PDs) have been investigated possibly for the first time.

Quantum Dot (QD) Fluorochromes for Exploration of Nanocompartments in Living Cells

Biomedical Optics, 2006
Photostable, highest emission QD fluorochromes are introduced for enzyme-organelle studies in nanocompartments of living cells. Progress towards intracellular localizations is foreseeable using high-resolution digital photography applied to genomics, proteomics, diagnostics-prognostics, and drug trials.

Surface Chemistry Studies of Quantum Dots (QDs) Modified with Surfactants

Journal of Cluster Science, 2003
Since luminescent CdSe quantum dots (QDs) have shown great potential in biological labeling, the surface chemistry behavior of QDs at interfaces is of great research interest. In the present study, CdSe QDs with green luminescence were modified with hydrophobic chains of varying lengths [from C6 to C18].

Nucleic Acid/Quantum Dots (QDs) Hybrid Systems for Optical and Photoelectrochemical Sensing

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2013
Nucleic acid/semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) hybrid systems combine the recognition and catalytic properties of nucleic acids with the unique photophysical features of QDs. These functions of nucleic acid/QDs hybrids are implemented to develop different optical sensing platforms for the detection of DNA, aptamer-substrate complexes, and metal ions ...

Single quantum dot (QD) imaging of fluid flow near surfaces

Experiments in Fluids, 2005
We introduce the use of quantum dot (QD) nanoparticles for near-surface velocimetry and provide preliminary data to demonstrate its feasibility. Evanescent wave illumination is used to image the motion of water-soluble (CdSe)ZnS QDs with a core size of 6 nm within a region of order 100 nm of a surface .
