Quantum illumination assistant with error-correcting codes

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
We scheme how to enhance the detection ability of quantum target recognition without using entanglement resources. Based on the commonly used error-correcting codes and corresponding decoding method, our scheme gives lower error probability and higher ...

Resource-efficient fault-tolerant one-way quantum repeater with code concatenation

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information, 2023
One-way quantum repeaters where loss and operational errors are counteracted by quantum error-correcting codes can ensure fast and reliable qubit transmission in quantum networks.

Hardness of Braided Quantum Circuit Optimization in the Surface Code

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering, 2023
Large-scale quantum information processing requires the use of quantum error-correcting codes to mitigate the effects of noise in quantum devices.

Good quantum error-correcting codes exist [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 1996
A quantum error-correcting code is defined to be a unitary mapping (encoding) of k qubits (2-state quantum systems) into a subspace of the quantum state space of n qubits such that if any t of the qubits undergo arbitrary decoherence, not necessarily independently, the resulting n qubits can be used to faithfully reconstruct the original quantum state ...

Optimal universal quantum error correction via bounded reference frames

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
Error correcting codes with a universal set of transversal gates are a desideratum for quantum computing. Such codes, however, are ruled out by the Eastin-Knill theorem.

Simple quantum error-correcting codes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 1996
Methods of finding good quantum error correcting codes are discussed, and many example codes are presented. The recipe C_2^{\perp} \subseteq C_1, where C_1 and C_2 are classical codes, is used to obtain codes for up to 16 information qubits with correction of small numbers of errors. The results are tabulated.

Entanglement-Assisted Quantum Codes from Cyclic Codes

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
Entanglement-assisted quantum-error-correcting (EAQEC) codes are quantum codes which use entanglement as a resource. These codes can provide better error correction than the (entanglement unassisted) codes derived from the traditional stabilizer ...

Fault-tolerant hyperbolic Floquet quantum error correcting codes [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
A central goal in quantum error correction is to reduce the overhead of fault-tolerant quantum computing by increasing noise thresholds and reducing the number of physical qubits required to sustain a logical qubit.

New Quantum Codes Constructed by Quantum Caps in PG(3,9) and PG(4,9)

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, we present a computer-supported method of searching for quantum caps. By means of this method and relevant knowledge of combinatorics, many quantum caps in $PG(3,9)$ and $PG(4,9)$ are constructively proven to exist.
