General Quantum Theory [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Inspired by classical ("actual") Quantum Theory over $\mathbb{C}$ and Modal Quantum Theory (MQT), which is a model of Quantum Theory over certain finite fields, we introduce General Quantum Theory as a Quantum Theory -- in the K{\o}benhavn interpretation -- over general division rings with involution, in which the inner product "is" a $(\sigma,1 ...

An Engineered Recombinant Spider Silk Protein Providing Disulfide‐Locked Control over Self‐Assembly and Fiber Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Using atomic structure and local stability information, recombinant aciniform spider silk proteins are rationally engineered to incorporate a chemically switchable disulfide bond to prevent fiber formation. When disulfide‐locked, these proteins cannot form continuous fibers, whereas the unlocked (reduced) state can.

Quantum Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Since the finiteness of the speed of light, and other considerations of special relativity, play such an important role in arguments concerning the interpretation of quantum mechanics, a good understanding of quantum field theory is a prerequisite. In this chapter, a brief summary is presented of what Quantum Field Theory is, and what one can conclude ...

Nanoscale Agglomeration Mechanisms of BF‐DPB:BPyMPM Donor–Acceptor Systems for Organic Optoelectronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The intermolecular and molecule‐substrate interactions and resulting molecular assembly of the OLED and OPV donor and acceptor molecules BF‐DPB and BPyMPM are investigated on different single crystalline substrates using high‐resolution scanning probe microscopy.

Quantum gravity from conformal field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We bootstrap loop corrections to AdS5 supergravity amplitudes by enforcing the consistency of the known classical results with the operator product expansion of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 super Yang-Mills theory.

Tidal effects in quantum field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We apply the Hilbert series to extend the gravitational action for a scalar field to a complete, non-redundant basis of higher-dimensional operators that is quadratic in the scalars and the Weyl tensor.

Interfacial Contact Engineering Enables Giant‐Performance Semiconductor Nanomembrane Optoelectronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates modifying interfacial contacts in realizing giant‐performance semiconductor nanomembrane optoelectronics. Strategies, including surface reaction and buffer layer work‐function modulation, are explored to boost the Schottky barrier. An emerging material of YbOx is utilized for near‐ideal Ohmic contact.

Quantum Groups and Quantum Field Theory in Rindler Space-Time [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1996
Quantum Field Theory (QFT) developed in Rindler space-time and its thermal properties are analyzed by means of quantum groups approach. The quantum deformation parameter, labelling the unitarily inequivalent representations, turns out to be related to the acceleration of the Rindler frame.
