Quantum CTC's in General Relativity

General Relativity and Gravitation, 2001
Closed timelike curves and their importance in theories of quantum gravity are discussed at the example of tunneling spacetimes constructed from generalized Misner spacetimes. These models are quantum mechanically stable and show negative energy densities and closed timelike curves at the Planck scale.

GENERAL RELATIVITY AND QUANTUM MECHANICS

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 2001
Usual quantum mechanics requires a fixed background spacetime geometry and its associated causal structure. A generalization of the usual theory may therefore be needed at the Planck scale for quantum theories of gravity in which spacetime geometry is a quantum variable.

Quantum Gauge General Relativity

Communications in Theoretical Physics, 2004
Based on gauge principle, a new model on quantum gravity is proposed in the frame work of quantum gauge theory of gravity. The model has local gravitational gauge symmetry, and the field equation of the gravitational gauge field is just the famous Einstein's field equation.

Quantum Structures in Einstein General Relativity

Letters in Mathematical Physics, 2000
The author presents a generalization of the geometric covariant formulation of the Galilei classical mechanics and quantum mechanics on a curved spacetime. This generalization is related to the geometric quantization. He defines an Einstein general relativistic quantum structure in analogy to the known Galilean.

Modern Canonical Quantum General Relativity

Classical and Quantum Gravity, 2008
The open problem of constructing a consistent and experimentally tested quantum theory of the gravitational field has its place at the heart of fundamental physics. The main approaches can be roughly divided into two classes: either one seeks a unified quantum framework of all interactions or one starts with a direct quantization of general relativity.

Quantum Clocks in General Relativity

2017
This chapter derives and discusses quantisation of the relativistic “clock” Hamiltonian, providing dynamics of low energy quantum systems with internal degrees of freedom in a fixed background.

Quantum Mechanics from General Relativity

1986
Discussion is given to the conceptual and mathematical change from the probability calculus of quantum mechanics to a weighting formalism, when the paradigm change takes place from linear quantum mechanics to the nonlinear, holistic field theory that accompanies general relativity, as a fundamental theory of matter.
