New aspects of two-dimensional quantum gravity

open access: yes, 2009
Causal dynamical triangulations (CDT) can be used as a regularization of quantum gravity. In two dimensions the theory can be solved anlytically, even before the cut-off is removed and one can study in detail how to take the continuum limit.

A Hybrid Haptic Device Integrating Pneumatic and Electromagnetic Actuators for Realistic Tactile Signal Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A novel soft, wearable haptic device integrates pneumatic and electromagnetic actuators to improve tactile signal transmission. Optimized with finite elements method simulations, it accurately transmits high‐frequency (texture) and low‐frequency (shape) signals. Experimental validation shows its suitability for applications in master–slave robotics and

Quantum Field Theory of Black Hole Perturbations with Backreaction: I General Framework

open access: yesUniverse
In a seminal work, Hawking showed that natural states for free quantum matter fields on classical spacetimes that solve the spherically symmetric vacuum Einstein equations are KMS states of non-vanishing temperature.

Epistemology of Canonical Quantum Gravity - Loop Quantum Gravity [PDF]

open access: yes
In the interpretation of canonical quantum gravity (CQG), gravity appears as a geometric pseudoforce, is reduced to spacetime geometry and becomes a simple effect of spacetime curvature.

Understanding the color change of the solutions of Cp2TiCl upon addition of water

open access: yesApplied Organometallic Chemistry, Volume 37, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
Reduction of red bis (cyclopentadienyl)titanium (IV) dichloride (Cp2TiCl2) with manganese dust in dry THF produces a green solution of titanocene (III) but, if THF is not dry, discolors to deep blue. An experimental study, DFT calculations, and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry have been performed to study the molecular species resulting from ...
