The Crystal Structure of Anhydrous [NMe4]F

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of tetramethylammonium fluoride, [NMe4]F, commonly used as a source for “naked” fluoride ions, is determined based on powder X‐ray diffraction data. In the crystal structure, the F− ions are tetrahedrally surrounded by four [NMe4]+ ions and vice versa, resulting in a wurtzite type of structure.
