Methodology for Topological Interface Engineering in 2D Photonic Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces an automated framework for topological photonic crystal design. It features an iterative band connection method for identifying band crossings, a data‐driven approach for band symmetry recognition, and analysis of how topological mode dispersion trades off with photonic band‐gap size.

Degradable Magnetic Composites from Recycled NdFeB Magnets for Soft Actuation and Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a degradable soft magnetic composite made from recycled NdFeB particles embedded in a gelatin‐based organogel. The material is processed into magnetic sensors and soft robotic components, which can later be dissolved in a green solvent to recover NdFeB magnetic particles.

Simulation of Carrier Injection Pathways in Axial GaN Nanowire MicroLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
This study examines how geometrical variations in the active region affect carrier injection in multiple quantum well light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) based on axial nanowires. The key role of semipolar quantum wells located at the nanowire edges is highlighted, which efficiently facilitates electron injection into the central polar quantum wells.

Tailoring Unusual Ferrimagnetism in Rare‐Earth Iron Garnets via Graphene Interlayers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an efficient strategy to tailor the ferrimagnetism, such as tunable orbital moments and unexpected magnetization compensated point in low‐dimensional Tm3Fe5O12 films through graphene interlayer engineering. These results pave the way for spintronics based on rare‐earth iron garnets and research in orbitronics. Abstract Ferrimagnets (

A Van Der Waals Broadband Infrared Optical Synapse Enabling Orientation Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An infrared optoelectronic synapse based on a graphene/CrOCl/graphene van der Waals heterostructure is reported to possess a broadband synaptic response range from the visible to the infrared (520–2000 nm), which can be used to achieve orientation and motion detections of a target mimicing the pit organ of a pit vapor.
