Phase of the quantum harmonic oscillator with applications to optical polarization [PDF]
The phase of the quantum harmonic oscillator, the temporal distribution of a particle in a square-well potential, and a quantum theory of angles are derived from a general theory of complementarity.

Abstract Transmetalation is a key elementary step in organometallic chemistry, for which reason there is a keen interest in better understanding the factors governing this reaction. We have previously reported the unusual transfer of a phenyl anion from boron to lithium in the gas‐phase dissociation of [LiBr(tBu)(Ph)Bpin]− (Chem. Eur. J.

Diagrammatic Schemes for Nonlinear Optical Interactions
Conventional diagrammatic approaches (blue frames in the figure) to semi‐classical nonlinear optical interactions emphasize either the bra and ket matter states (double‐sided Feynman diagrams and Liouville pathways) or the frequencies of the bra and ket radiative processes between energy levels (Albrecht notation). We propose a field‐type modification (

Out-of-time-ordered-correlators (OTOCs) have been suggested as a means to diagnose chaotic behavior in quantum mechanical systems. Recently, it was found that OTOCs display exponential growth for the inverted quantum harmonic oscillator, mirroring the ...

Coherent Terahertz Hyper‐Raman Spectroscopy
In this paper, we review our recent discovery of a novel nonlinear effect in the terahertz frequency range, which we have termed terahertz hyper‐Raman (THYR) spectroscopy. This technique shares many characteristics with conventional hyper‐Raman spectroscopy but is applied within the THz spectrum.
