Cost-Efficient Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Over WDM Networks

Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, 2019
Quantum key distribution (QKD) uses the laws of quantum mechanics to distribute secret keys with information-theoretic security. To realize QKD for secure communications among multiple distant users, fiber-based QKD networks can be deployed with today's available technologies.

Vehicle-to-Vehicle Quantum Key Distribution (V2V-QKD)

CLEO 2024
Secure communication is required for future smart infrastructure networks. We demonstrate the first Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) link between two moving cars. Our system operates at low-speeds and at high-speeds on a U.S. Interstate Highway.

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Using Full Laguerre-Gauss Encoding

Imaging and Applied Optics 2018 (3D, AO, AIO, COSI, DH, IS, LACSEA, LS&C, MATH, pcAOP), 2018
We describe progress in developing a free-space QKD system that encodes information in both the radial and azimuthal degrees of freedom. Such a system makes optimum use of the sizes of sending and receiving telescopes.

Software defined optical networks secured by quantum key distribution (QKD)

2017 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC), 2017
Optical network security is attracting increasing research interest. Currently, software defined optical network (SDON) has been proposed to increase network intelligence, which is gradually moving towards industrialization. However, new threats are emerging, e.g., control messages transferred via the control channels are vulnerable to eavesdropping ...

Capacity-Approaching Channel Codes for Discrete Variable Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Applications

2013
Secure communications and cryptography is as old as civilization itself. The Greek Spartans for instance would cipher their military messages and, for Chinese, just the act of writing the message constituted a secret message since almost no-one could read or write Chinese. Modern public key Cryptography until the mid 1980’s was founded on computational

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Multiplexing by Using the Attenuation Method

CLEO 2024
In this paper a novel approach to multiplexing quantum and classical channels into a single fiber is presented. A so-called attenuation method is used, that is mainly fo-cused on suppressing the influence of Raman noise.
