A metasurface‐enabled helical wavefront fingerprint (MHWF) paradigm is proposed for quantitative and specific retrieval of a liquid medium's refractive index and extinction coefficient. The liquid's complex dielectric response governs the wavefront evolution of the metasurface‐generated focused vortex beam, forming a distinctive three‐dimensional ...

Linear-frequency conversion with time-varying metasurfaces
Frequency conversion is a hallmark of nonlinearity. The spectral manifestations, emergent within a system, can typically be attributed to a marked nonlinearity within the material properties, complex geometric configurations, and/or the unique functional

An integrated polarimetry architecture based on a cholesteric liquid crystal waveguide polarization splitter overcomes the volumetric bottleneck in chip‐scale atomic magnetometers. By leveraging Bragg‐selective reflection and total‐internal‐reflection‐induced helicity inversion, this ultrathin device enables efficient circular polarization splitting ...

Niobium nitride (NbN) broadband plasmonic metasurface absorbers provide an efficient platform for solar‐energy conversion through hot‐carrier injection. Quasi‐epitaxial NbN features a low work function of 4.0 eV, reducing the interfacial injection barrier and facilitating charge transfer into adjacent photocatalysts.

Single atomic layer quantum holography
Quantum metasurfaces composed of subwavelength two-dimensional atomic arrays hold great promise as a practical and scalable atom-photon interface. However, these quantum metasurfaces are limited to amplitude control of photonic states thereby restricting

Dual‐Functional Terahertz Manipulation of EuBa2Cu3O7 Superconductors via Cooper Pair Dynamics
We use a spintronic‐metasurface THz emitter to realize chiral THz generation. Using polarization‐tunable THz pulses, we investigate equilibrium and photoinduced THz responses in a 43 nm thick EuBa2Cu3O7 (EBCO) thin film. The EBCO film achieves 46.81 dB EMI shielding and 113% photoinduced THz modulation with 19.0 ps recovery, enabled by Cooper‐pair ...

Quantum CZ gates on a single gradient metasurface
Abstract For the requirement of quantum photonic integration in on-chip quantum information, we propose a scheme to realize quantum controlled-Z (CZ) gates through single gradient metasurface. Using its parallel beam-splitting feature, i.e., a series of connected beamsplitters with the same splitting ratio, one metasurface can support a ...
