Dependence of quantum dot solar cell parameters on the number of quantum dot layers
We report the theoretical results of improved solar cell efficiency form InAs quantum dots (QDs) embedded in the intrinsic region of n-i-p GaAs structure. The effect of QD layers on the QD solar cell parameters is explained in detail.

Number-unconstrained quantum sensing
Quantum sensing is commonly described as a constrained optimization problem: maximize the information gained about an unknown quantity using a limited number of particles.

Information-theoretic interpretation of quantum error-correcting codes [PDF]
Quantum error-correcting codes are analyzed from an information-theoretic perspective centered on quantum conditional and mutual entropies. This approach parallels the description of classical error correction in Shannon theory, while clarifying the ...

Advanced Statistical Testing of Quantum Random Number Generators
Pseudo-random number generators are widely used in many branches of science, mainly in applications related to Monte Carlo methods, although they are deterministic in design and, therefore, unsuitable for tackling fundamental problems in security and ...

Number fluctuations in cold quantum gases
In ultracold gases many experiments use atom imaging as a basic observable. The resulting image is averaged over a number of realizations and mostly only this average is used. Only recently the noise has been measured to extract physical information.

Discrete single-photon quantum walks with tunable decoherence [PDF]
Quantum walks have a host of applications, ranging from quantum computing to the simulation of biological systems. We present an intrinsically stable, deterministic implementation of discrete quantum walks with single photons in space.
