Fourier-transform quantum phase estimation with quantum phase noise

open access: yesSignal Processing, 2020
Abstract For the fundamental task of estimating a phase on an arbitrary quantum process, a variant of Fourier-based quantum phase estimation is devised, which uses a probing signal of multiple entangled qubits. For simple practical implementation, each probing qubit can be applied and measured separately.

Full-Period Quantum Phase Estimation

Physical Review Letters, 2023
Quantum sensing can provide the superior sensitivity for sensing a physical quantity beyond the shot-noise limit. In practice, however, this technique has been limited to the issues of phase ambiguity and low sensitivity for small-scale probe states. Here, we propose and demonstrate a full-period quantum phase estimation approach by adopting the Kitaev'

Estimation of counted quantum phase

Physical Review A, 1995
The estimation of phase shift in realistic experiments is addressed here. Provided that the phase concept is not ideal, the phase shift should always be inferred from the performed measurement. Particulary, two different estimations are suggested.

Quantum phase estimation and quantum counting with qudits

Physical Review A, 2016
Implementations of the quantum phase estimation and quantum counting algorithms with qudits are proposed. The construction of the basic building blocks of the algorithms is described in detail and the fidelity of the quantum counting algorithm with qubits and qudits is simulated numerically. Along with the exponential increase of the size of the target

Quantum phase estimation and quantum amplitude estimation

Abstract This chapter introduces and analyses two of the most important quantum algorithmic primitives that are used in myriad applications, namely quantum phase estimation and quantum amplitude estimation (QAE). Quantum phase estimation (in the presentation covered in this chapter) uses the quantum Fourier transform, itself an ...

Approximate Quantum Fourier Transform and Quantum Algorithm for Phase Estimation

2015
A quantum Fourier transform and its application to a quantum algorithm for phase estimation is discussed. It has been shown that the approximate quantum Fourier transform can be successfully used for the phase estimation instead of the full one. The lower bound for the probability to get a correct result in a single run of the algorithm has been ...
