Interfacial Contact Engineering Enables Giant‐Performance Semiconductor Nanomembrane Optoelectronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates modifying interfacial contacts in realizing giant‐performance semiconductor nanomembrane optoelectronics. Strategies, including surface reaction and buffer layer work‐function modulation, are explored to boost the Schottky barrier. An emerging material of YbOx is utilized for near‐ideal Ohmic contact.

Games for Quantum Physics Education [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract As the second quantum revolution comes to pass with its potential to revolutionize our lives, it becomes increasingly relevant to educate the public about quantum mechanics. Quantum literacy is also a formidable challenge and opportunity for a massive cultural uplift, since it fosters the possibility for citizens to engender ...

Effects of Chemical Pressure on Superconductivity in Electrochemically Intercalated (TMA)yFe2(Se1−xSx)2 (TMA = Tetramethylammonium)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intercalation of a series of FeSe1−xSx host crystals with tetramethylammonium cations (TMA+) linearly scales the critical temperature Tc from 43 K down to 28 K with increasing sulfur incorporation. The chemical pressure induced by the partial substitution shows a weakening of the superconducting properties in both hosts and intercalates in a remarkably

Quantum Networks for Generating Arbitrary Quantum States [PDF]

open access: yesPhillip Kaye, Michele Mosca, "Quantum Networks for Generating Arbitrary Quantum States", Proceedings, International Conference on Quantum Information (ICQI). Rochester, New York, USA, 2001, 2004
Quantum protocols often require the generation of specific quantum states. We describe a quantum algorithm for generating any prescribed quantum state. For an important subclass of states, including pure symmetric states, this algorithm is efficient.

Highly efficient frequency conversion with bandwidth compression of quantum light

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
In quantum information technology the output of one element often does not match the required frequency and bandwidth of the input of the next element. Here, Allgaieret al.

The Real and the Mathematical in Quantum Modeling: From Principles to Models and from Models to Principles

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2017
The history of mathematical modeling outside physics has been dominated by the use of classical mathematical models, C-models, primarily those of a probabilistic or statistical nature.
