Ultra‐Fast Non‐Volatile Resistive Switching Devices with Over 512 Distinct and Stable Levels for Memory and Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A materials and device design concept that comprises a self‐assembled ultra‐thin epitaxial ion‐transporting layer, an amorphous oxide overcoat oxygen‐blocking layer, and a partial filament formed during an electroforming step is proposed for low‐current multilevel resistive switching devices.

Contrasting grading approaches in introductory physics and quantum mechanics: The case of graduate teaching assistants

open access: yesPhysical Review Physics Education Research, 2017
At large research universities, physics graduate teaching assistants (TAs) are often responsible for grading in courses at all levels. However, few studies have focused on TAs’ grading practices in introductory and advanced physics courses.

Quantum Computational Complexity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
This article surveys quantum computational complexity, with a focus on three fundamental notions: polynomial-time quantum computations, the efficient verification of quantum proofs, and quantum interactive proof systems. Properties of quantum complexity classes based on these notions, such as BQP, QMA, and QIP, are presented.

Highly Crystalline Selenium‐Substituted C‐Shaped Ortho‐Benzodipyrrole‐Based A‐D‐A‐Type Nonfullerene Acceptor Enabling Solution‐Processed Single‐Crystal‐Like Thin Films for Air‐Stable, High‐Mobility N‐Type Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Symmetric selenium‐substituted CB‐2Se forms a highly ordered, kaleidoscope‐like 3D single‐crystal structure with enhanced intermolecular interactions, enabling solution‐processed single‐crystal‐like thin film, which transitions from a kinetically trapped face‐on π–π stacking orientation to a thermodynamically stable edge‐on configuration upon thermal ...

The Real and the Mathematical in Quantum Modeling: From Principles to Models and from Models to Principles

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2017
The history of mathematical modeling outside physics has been dominated by the use of classical mathematical models, C-models, primarily those of a probabilistic or statistical nature.

Geometrical perspective on quantum states and quantum computation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We interpret quantum computing as a geometric evolution process by reformulating finite quantum systems via Connes' noncommutative geometry. In this formulation, quantum states are represented as noncommutative connections, while gauge transformations on the connections play a role of unitary quantum operations. Thereby, a geometrical model for quantum
