Distributed quantum sensing in a continuous variable entangled network
Networking plays a ubiquitous role in quantum technology. It is an integral part of quantum communication and has significant potential for upscaling quantum computer technologies that are otherwise not scalable. Recently, it was realized that sensing of

Localization-driven quantum sensing
We show that the delocalization-localization transition in a quantum-many body (QMB) systems is a compelling quantum resource for achieving quantum-enhanced sensitivity in parameter estimation. We exploit the vulnerability of a near-transition QMB state against the parameter shift for devising efficient sensing tools.

Electron spin control of optically levitated nanodiamonds in vacuum
Electron spins of diamond nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers are important quantum resources for nanoscale sensing and quantum information. Combining NV spins with levitated optomechanical resonators will provide a hybrid quantum system for novel applications.

Mass sensing by quantum criticality [PDF]
Mass sensing connects the mass variation to a frequency shift of a mechanical oscillator, whose limitation is determined by its mechanical frequency resolution. Here we propose a method to enlarge a minute mechanical frequency shift, which is smaller than the linewidth of the mechanical oscillator, into a huge frequency shift of the normal mode ...

Discrete-Modulated Coherent-State Quantum Key Distribution with Basis-Encoding
Discrete-modulated coherent-state continuous-variable quantum key distribution (DMCS-CVQKD) is of great value for its simple implementation. However, the traditional DMCS-CVQKD scheme cannot tolerate the high channel excess noise and channel loss ...

High-precision force sensing using a single trapped ion
We introduce quantum sensing schemes for measuring very weak forces with a single trapped ion. They use the spin-motional coupling induced by the laser-ion interaction to transfer the relevant force information to the spin-degree of freedom.

Enhanced Resolution of Lossy Interferometry by Coherent Amplification of Single Photons
In the quantum sensing context most of the efforts to design novel quantum techniques of sensing have been constrained to idealized, noise-free scenarios, in which effects of environmental disturbances could be neglected.
