Quantum simulations with quantum gases
2017 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe & European Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO/Europe-EQEC), 2017Remarkable advances in cooling and manipulating atomic gases have opened up new avenues to explore fundamental concepts in quantum many-body physics. Synthetically created potentials and control of atom-atom interactions have made it possible to tailor the properties of experimental systems at a microscopic level.

Quantum Simulation of the Dirac Particle
Open Systems & Information Dynamics, 2015In this paper, we examine whether a quantum computer can efficiently simulate time evolution of the Dirac particle. We consider a Gaussian wave packet scattered by a step potential. We compare the results obtained from a quantum algorithm with the results of classical simulations (Cayley's method) and analytical calculations.

Quantum Simulation with a Quantum Computer
2011Exact numerical simulations of quantum systems are intractable using classical computers for all but trivial systems. Approximate simulations can omit phenomena that are of critical importance to the system being simulated. And, last but not least, certain quantum phenomena are not intrinsically simulatable by any classical device unless we introduce ...
