保有するイオン照射研究施設TIARAにおいて、独自の照射技術と長年の研究で得た照射効果に関する基礎的知見をもとに、燃料電池向けナノ材料の創製に関する研究に取り組んでいる。本講演では、(1)高エネルギー(数百MeV 以上)の重イオンビームによる潜在飛跡グラフト重合を利用した高分子電解質膜、(2)低エネルギー(数百keV程度)のイオン注入技術によるナノ微粒子触媒の創製について報告する。トピック(1)では、得られた新規の電解質膜は、単一飛跡におけるナノ構造制御によって高い伝導性と寸法安定性を同時に達成できることが明らかになった。一方のトピック(2)では、注入イオンと基板元素の相溶性により金属と金属化合物のナノ微粒子を作り分けられること、基板に残留する格子欠陥が金属ナノ微粒子の電子状態 ...
