Extracting the physical sector of quantum states
The physical nature of any quantum source guarantees the existence of an effective Hilbert space of finite dimension, the physical sector, in which its state is completely characterized with arbitrarily high accuracy.

This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Sequential measurements of non-commuting observables with quantum controlled interactions
The origin of non-classical correlations is difficult to identify since the uncertainty principle requires that information obtained about one observable invariably results in the disturbance of any other non-commuting observable.

Deterministic Detection of Single Ion Implantation
Focused ion beam implantation with high detection efficiencies will enable the rapid and scalable fabrication of advanced spin‐based technologies such as qubits. This work presents the detection efficiencies of a wide range of ions implanted into solid‐state hosts, with efficiencies of >90% recorded for ion species and substrate combinations of ...

Quantum tomography enhanced through parametric amplification
Quantum tomography is the standard method of reconstructing the Wigner function of quantum states of light by means of balanced homodyne detection. The reconstruction quality strongly depends on the photodetectors quantum efficiency and other losses in ...

Pairwise tomography networks for many-body quantum systems
We introduce the concept of pairwise tomography networks to characterize quantum properties in many-body systems and demonstrate an efficient protocol to measure them experimentally. Pairwise tomography networks are generators of multiplex networks where

Model-Predictive Quantum Control via Hamiltonian Learning
This article proposes an end-to-end framework for the learning-enabled control of closed quantum systems. The proposed learning technique is the first of its kind to utilize a hierarchical design, which layers probing control, quantum state tomography ...
