Conductive atomic force microscopy data from substantia nigra tissue
Ferritin and neuromelanin are present within the dopamine neurons of the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc), and ferritin is also distributed in the intercellular regions of those neurons.

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Nonmagnetic single-molecule spin-filter based on quantum interference
Quantum interference can be used to control electronic transport with high sensitivity at the nanoscale. Pal et al. show that without the need for magnetic materials, quantum interference can also filter spin transport approaching the limit of ideal spin-

Enhanced quantum transport in chiral quantum walks
AbstractQuantum transport across discrete structures is a relevant topic that can be suitably studied in the context of continuous-time quantum walks. The addition of phase degrees of freedom, leading to chiral quantum walks, can also account for directional transport on graphs with loops.

We use scanning nitrogen vacancy magnetometry to directly image the weak in‐plane magnetic moments in mixed phase BiFeO3 at the nanoscale and quantify the local magnetic moments to be 18.8±2.0 μB/nm2 in the rhombohedral‐like phase and 1.5±0.6 μB/nm2 in the well‐known non‐magnetic tetragonal‐like phase.

Transport outlook 2009: Globalisation, crisis and transport [PDF]
This second ITF Transport Outlook continues building towards a full-fledged Transport Outlook, building upon the first Outlook (JTRC, 20081). The 2008 Outlook investigated the relation between expected GDP evolution and the demand for road transport ...

Fast and high excitation transport in waveguide quantum electrodynamics
Waveguide quantum electrodynamics (wQED) with underlying collective and long-range atom-atom interactions has led to many distinct dynamical phenomena, including modified collective radiations and intriguing quantum correlations.

Hydration of mixed halide perovskites investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy
The mixed lead halide perovskites are promising candidates for solar cells, but the intrinsic instabilities due to phase segregation, halide migration, and hydration hinder the practical applications.

Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...
