Trends in Molecular Diagnosis and Diversity Studies for Phytosanitary Regulated Xanthomonas

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Bacteria in the genus Xanthomonas infect a wide range of crops and wild plants, with most species responsible for plant diseases that have a global economic and environmental impact on the seed, plant, and food trade. Infections by Xanthomonas spp. cause

A list of methods to detect arthropod quarantine pests in Europe* [PDF]

open access: yesEPPO Bulletin, 2012
A total of 177 species of quarantine arthropods in Europe have been analysed for detection methods that are used in surveillance. This paper provides a link to a list where the methods most frequently used, either alone or in combination, are given for each species. Inspection remains the most common method of detection (108 species).

A Preparation Method of Nano-Pesticide Improves the Selective Toxicity toward Natural Enemies

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Various nano-delivery systems have been designed to deliver synthetic/botanical pesticides for improved bioactivity. However, the enhanced toxicity of nanocarrier-loaded pesticides may injure the natural enemies, and their selective toxicity should be ...

Plants back: Re‐envisioning botanical garden collections management for indigenous crops

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Botanical gardens and other ex situ collections play a key role in preventing plant extinctions, yet the needs of Indigenous crop cultivars are not being met by conventional botanical collections management practices. Inspired by Indigenous land care restoration movements centering plant–human–society relationships, we propose a path toward reciprocal ...

An extinction‐emergency metacollection: Maximising future recovery options for Rhodomyrtus psidioides (Myrtaceae), threatened by Myrtle Rust

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
A challenge for wild plant conservation is the rising incidence of plant pathogens that are difficult to interdict, contain and manage. Invasive, fast‐moving, broad‐spectrum pathogens impose societal costs through losses of intrinsically valuable wild biodiversity, ecosystem function, current and potential genetic and biological assets, culturally ...

Single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas assays for point‐of‐need detection of Stewart's wilt pathogen (Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii) of corn and Maize dwarf mosaic virus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1988-1999, April 2025.
Schematic diagram of the single and dual RPA‐CRISPR/Cas12a/13a diagnostic assays for the detection of Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii and Maize dwarf mosaic virus. The validated assays provide a useful and sensitive molecular tool for detecting two quarantine pathogens of maize within a minimal resource framework suitable for fast‐tracking the ...

Alternative Contract Design: Analysing the Bankability of Fungible Derivative Contracts in Energy‐Only Markets

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the retirement of 21GW of legacy coal fleet looming, the task to replace Australia's thermal capacity with alternative firmed renewable ‘bulk energy’ solutions is non‐trivial. Indeed, calibrating necessary capital investment in new plant stock with efficient economic outcomes, vis‐à‐vis cost and reliability, represents a fundamental ...

Pest categorisation of Hirschmanniella spp.

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2018
The Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of nematodes belonging to the genus Hirschmanniella (Nematoda: Pratylenchidae). Twenty‐nine species in this genus have been considered of which five species are present in the EU (Hirschmanniella ...
