Acute ketone monoester ingestion lowers resting cerebral blood flow: a randomized cross‐over trial

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This double‐blind, placebo‐controlled, randomized cross‐over trial investigated the effects of ketone monoester (KME) ingestion on resting cerebral blood flow (CBF) in young adults. We demonstrate that KME supplementation lowers CBF in a dose‐dependent manner over 2‐houra post‐ingestion, whereas CBF remained unchanged following ...

Arterial–venous differences of brain‐derived neurotrophic factor isoforms across the brain and muscle after exercise at different intensities

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Exercise‐induced increases in forearm venous plasma and serum brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) are often assumed to be indicative of release from the brain. Sixteen healthy and physically fit adults (20–40 years old) were recruited to investigate whether exercise‐induced changes in forearm venous mature BDNF (mBDNF) and ...

Meanings of Autistic Rituals and Routines: Using Personal Explanations Written by Bloggers to Improve Inclusion

open access: yesDiversity &Inclusion Research, Volume 2, Issue 3, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Rituals and routines are used to define autism. However, descriptions that come from diagnostic manuals exclude many people from being recognised as autistic initially, and exclude others from owning a positive autistic identity. Different examples and descriptions of these behaviours are missing from clinical guidelines.

Optimistic bias in updating beliefs about climate change longitudinally predicts low pro‐environmental behaviour

open access: yesBritish Journal of Social Psychology, Volume 64, Issue 3, July 2025.
Abstract We investigated the preregistered hypothesis that an optimistic bias in updating beliefs about climate change (i.e., integrating good news more than bad news) cross‐sectionally (NStudy 1 = 109) and longitudinally (NStudy 2 = 407) predicts self‐reported pro‐environmental behaviour (PEB).

The six-quark structure of long-lived $D$-mesons and $ψ/J$ [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
The harmonic quarks are applied to the analysis of quark structures of long-lived $D$-mesons and $\psi/J$. In the harmonic quark model the quarks of long-lived mesons ($\pi^0$, $\pi^\pm$, $K^\pm$, $K^0$, $B^0$, $B^\pm$) are weakly relativistic objects with the excess energy of valent quarks less than 7 MeV.

Effects of Heat and Hypoxia Training on the Fat Oxidation Capacity of Competitive Athletes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a four‐week heat and hypoxia training on the fat oxidation capacity of competitive athletes. Eight elite male modern pentathlon athletes completed a four‐week aerobic endurance training program in three environments: normal (CON), high temperature and humidity (HOT), and hypoxia (HYP).

Drag force and heavy quark potential in a rotating background

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We explored the gravity dual of a rotating quark-gluon plasma by transforming the boundary coordinates of the large black hole limit of Schwarchild-AdS5 metric.

A Critical Occluding Tension Phase Transition Occurs Between 30% and 40% 1RM in Dynamic Knee Extension Exercise

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Oxygen delivery and utilization to working muscle(s) are essential for sustained exercise performance. Higher contractile loads can occlude intramuscular blood vessels, limiting oxygen perfusion, while lighter loads minimize occlusion and allow perfusion.

Non-hydrodynamic response in QCD-like plasma

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Quark-gluon plasma’s (QGP) properties at non-hydrodynamic and non-perturbative regimes remain largely unexplored. Here, we examine the response functions describing how a QGP-like plasma responds to initial energy-momentum disturbance in both static and ...

Nuclear suppression of the $$\phi $$ ϕ meson yields with large $$p_T$$ p T at the RHIC and the LHC

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
We calculate $$\phi $$ ϕ meson transverse momentum spectra in $$\mathrm{p}+\mathrm{p}$$ p + p collisions as well as their nuclear suppressions in central $$\mathrm{A}+\mathrm{A}$$ A + A collisions both at the RHIC and the LHC in LO and NLO with the QCD ...
