Quark description of nuclear matter

open access: yes, 2000
We discuss the role of an adjoint chiral condensate for color superconducting quark matter. Its presence leads to color-flavor locking in two-flavor quark matter.

Clustered Quark Matter Calculation for Strange Quark Matter

open access: yes, 2009
Motivated by the need for a solid state strange quark matter to better explain some observational phenomena, we discussed possibility of color singlet cluster formation in cold strange quark matter by a rough calculation following the excluded volume method proposed by Clark et al (1986) and adopted quark mass density dependent model with cubic scaling.

Stellar matter in the Quark-Meson-Coupling Model with neutrino trapping

open access: yes, 2003
The properties of hybrid stars formed by hadronic and quark matter in $\beta$-equilibrium are described by appropriate equations of state (EoS) in the framework of the quark meson coupling (QMC) model.

Strangelets and strange quark matter [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1998
The properties of finite lumps of strange quark matter (strangelets) with emphasis on the two scenarios of producing strange matter in relativistic heavy ion collisions are summarized. As an outlook, the possibility of short-lived strange composites and charmed matter are discussed for coming heavy ion experiments.

Quark deconfinement and neutrino trapping in compact stars

open access: yes, 2004
We study the role played by neutrino trapping on the hadron star (HS) to quark star (QS) conversion mechanism proposed recently by Berezhiani and collaborators.

Strange quark matter

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1995
Abstract Several experiments are using heavy ion collisions as a means of creating and studying strange quark matter in the laboratory. I will describe why I think it is important and interesting to look for strange quark matter, and discuss the physics addressed by the experiments that have been designed to look for it in high energy heavy ion ...

Quark Matter 2005 – Theoretical Summary [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 2006
This is a review of the latest developments in the theory of superdense nuclear matter, formed in relativistic heavy ion collisions or in the core of collapsed stars, as they were reported and discussed at the Quark Matter 2005 conference in Budapest (Hungary).

Strongly interacting quark matter in massive quark stars

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity
Abstract This paper investigates the properties of strongly coupled matter at high baryon densities (ρ B) in quark stars (QSs). The QS model is based on the density-dependent quark mass (DDQM) framework, modified DDQM (MDDQM) by enhancing the single-gluon interaction to generate higher repulsive pressure.

Fermionic Excitation in Quark Matter [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics Supplement, 1995
We discuss the fermionic excitation spectra of the dense QCD and QED plasma at zero temperature, and analyze the stability of the normal (perturbative) ground state. The standard re-summed perturbation theory breaks down because the infrared (IR) divergences show up in the spectra near the Fermi surface.
