Impact of dark matter on strange quark stars described by different quark models

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
Dark matter is hypothesized to interact with ordinary matter solely through gravity and may be present in compact objects such as strange quark stars. We treat strange quark stars admixed with dark matter as two-fluid systems to investigate the potential

Dense quark matter with chiral and isospin imbalance: NJL-model consideration

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Isospin asymmetry is the well-known property of dense quark matter, which exists in the compact stars and is produced in heavy ion collisions. On the other hand, the chiral imbalance between left- and right- handed quarks is another highly anticipated ...

Can cold quark matter be solid?

open access: yes, 2010
The state of cold quark matter really challenges both astrophysicists and particle physicists, even many-body physicists. It is conventionally suggested that BCS-like color superconductivity occurs in cold quark matter; however, other scenarios with a ...

Record phenological responses to climate change in three sympatric penguin species

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 3, Page 455-469, March 2026.
This paper is impressive because we managed to monitor extensively a really difficult place to reach and operate in. We deployed 77 cameras across Antarctica and the Sub Antarctic islands to monitor three different species of penguins. We found that they are the fastest advancing vertebrates with respect to their timing of breeding.

Instanton corrections to the MSTB Kink mass

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The Montonen-Sarker-Trullinger-Bishop (MSTB) model enjoys two classically degenerate kink solutions in the same topological sector. We construct the instanton that interpolates between them and argue that the two lowest lying Hamiltonian eigenstates in ...

Quark spin polarization in high density quark matter

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
It is shown that there exists a possibility of spontaneous spin polarization in high density symmetric quark matter under the tensor-type four-point interaction between quarks in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model.

Peri‐operative rehabilitation in patients undergoing elective cardiac valve surgery: a randomised controlled trial

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 362-372, March 2026.
Summary Introduction Patients with valvular heart disease are at high risk of postoperative pulmonary complications, which contribute to morbidity and mortality. However, few studies have focused specifically on peri‐operative rehabilitation in this patient population.

Thermoelectric transport coefficients of quark matter

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
A thermal gradient and/or a chemical potential gradient in a conducting medium can lead to an electric field, an effect known as thermoelectric effect or Seebeck effect.

1-2-3-flavor color superconductivity in compact stars

open access: yes, 2008
We suggest a scenario where the three light quark flavors are sequentially deconfined under increasing pressure in cold asymmetric nuclear matter, e.g., as in neutron stars. The basis for our analysis is a chiral quark matter model of Nambu--Jona-Lasinio
