Quark-Gluon-Plasma Formation at SPS Energies? [PDF]
By colliding ultrarelativistic ions, one achieves presently energy densities close to the critical value, concerning the formation of a quark-gluon-plasma.

Abstract Freshwater Peridinium willei (Peridiniaceae) is globally distributed, but reports linking its morphologies with DNA sequence data remain scarce. The taxonomy of the species, and its infraspecific taxa, remain ambiguous due to the lack of DNA sequence data for the original and type material.

Dark matter effects on hybrid star properties
In the present work, we investigate the effects of dark matter (DM) on hybrid star properties. We assume that dark matter is mixed with both hadronic and quark matter and interacts with them through the exchange of a Higgs boson.

Tidal deformations of compact stars with crystalline quark matter [PDF]
We study the tidal deformability of bare quark stars and hybrid compact stars composed of a quark matter core in general relativity, assuming that the deconfined quark matter exists in a crystalline color superconducting phase.

Neutrino Propagation In Color Superconducting Quark Matter [PDF]
We calculate the neutrino mean free path in color superconducting quark matter, and employ it to study the cooling of matter via neutrino diffusion in the superconducting phase as compared to a free quark phase.

Record phenological responses to climate change in three sympatric penguin species
This paper is impressive because we managed to monitor extensively a really difficult place to reach and operate in. We deployed 77 cameras across Antarctica and the Sub Antarctic islands to monitor three different species of penguins. We found that they are the fastest advancing vertebrates with respect to their timing of breeding.

Searching for Strange Quark Matter Objects in Exoplanets [PDF]
The true ground state of hadronic matter may be strange quark matter (SQM). Consequently, observed pulsars may actually be strange quark stars, but not neutron stars.

Extended Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model for quark and nuclear matters
In this work, we extend the two-flavor Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model to one capable of exploring quark and nuclear matter consistently. With an extra term standing for quark-nucleon interactions, nucleons could automatically emerge as color-singlet three ...

Phases of Hadron-Quark Matter in (Proto) Neutron Stars
In the first part of this paper, we investigate the possible existence of a structured hadron-quark mixed phase in the cores of neutron stars. This phase, referred to as the hadron-quark pasta phase, consists of spherical blob, rod, and slab rare phase ...
