This is an elementary introduction to Quark Models for Baryons. The emphasis is on quick ways of computing matrix elements, especially for axial vector currents and magnetic moments. Various ways of expressing baryon wavefunctions are discussed, especially for the spin-flavor part, and some short explanations for orbital wavefunctions and negative ...

A quark statistical model for quark fragmentation [PDF]
A simple model for fragmentation of a quark into a jet of hadrons is presented. It is based on a quark statistical consideration and treats both mesons and baryons on equal footing.

Strange quark matter and quark stars with the Dyson-Schwinger quark model
, 2016.We calculate the equation of state of strange quark matter and the interior structure of strange quark stars in a Dyson-Schwinger quark model within rainbow or Ball-Chiu vertex approximation.

The hypercentral Constituent Quark Model and its application to baryon properties
, 2015The hypercentral Constituent Quark Model (hCQM) for the baryon structure is reviewed and its applications are systematically discussed. The model is based on a simple form of the quark potential, which contains a Coulomb-like interaction and a ...

Mesons in a relativized quark model with chromodynamics.
Physical Review D, Particles and fields, 1986We have studied the three quark system in a relativized version of the quark potential model with chromodynamics. With parameters consistent with those of an analogous study of meson spectroscopy we obtain a successful description of the spectrum of ...

Quark-antiquark pairs in the quark model
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011We study the structure of the spin of the proton and the Λ hyperon in an unquenched quark model which incorporates the effects of quark‐antiquark pair creation via a microscopic, QCD‐inspired, quark‐antiquark creation mechanism. It is shown that the inclusion of the qq pairs leads to a sizeable contribution of the orbital angular momentum to the spin ...

Heavy-quark mesons in a relativistic quark model
Physical Review D, 1991The Coulomb-gauge QCD Hamiltonian, augmented by a term which produces linear, scalar confinement is used to generate kernels for the bound-state amplitudes and eigenvalues of heavy quarkonium. The model generates all the correct perturbative physics up to order {alpha}{sub {ital s}}{sup 4} and is applied to the {ital c{bar c}} and {ital b{bar b ...

Deuteron photodisintegration and quark models
Physical Review C, 1990We have examined the behavior of the forward-to-backward ratio {ital R} of the cross section for the {sup 2}H({gamma},{ital p}){ital n} reaction. The data show a weak dependence of {ital R} on the photon energy and group around a value of 1.5 which agrees with the prediction of a simple quark model.
