Acute ketone monoester ingestion lowers resting cerebral blood flow: a randomized cross‐over trial

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This double‐blind, placebo‐controlled, randomized cross‐over trial investigated the effects of ketone monoester (KME) ingestion on resting cerebral blood flow (CBF) in young adults. We demonstrate that KME supplementation lowers CBF in a dose‐dependent manner over 2‐houra post‐ingestion, whereas CBF remained unchanged following ...

Arterial–venous differences of brain‐derived neurotrophic factor isoforms across the brain and muscle after exercise at different intensities

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Exercise‐induced increases in forearm venous plasma and serum brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) are often assumed to be indicative of release from the brain. Sixteen healthy and physically fit adults (20–40 years old) were recruited to investigate whether exercise‐induced changes in forearm venous mature BDNF (mBDNF) and ...

calculation of B → D*lv form factor at zero recoil using the Oktay-Kronfeld action

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
We present the first preliminary results for the semileptonic form factor hA1 (w = 1)/ρAj at zero recoil for the B → D*lv decay using lattice QCD with four flavors of sea quarks.

Non‐invasive assessment of integrated cardiorespiratory network dynamics after physiological stress in humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This study aimed to develop a non‐invasive method for visualizing the cardiorespiratory network under baseline conditions and following isolated or combined exposure to hypoxia, exercise, and sleep deprivation. Twenty‐two healthy participants underwent assessments at rest and after normobaric hypoxia (FIO2${{F}_{{\mathrm{I ...

Searches for Fourth Generation, Vector-like Quarks and Resonances with the ATLAS Detector

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
A summary of the searches for heavy quarks and heavy bosons decaying to top-antitop pairs (tt¯+1$tar t + 1$ resonances) with 14.3 fb−1 of the proton-proton collisions data at √s = 8 TeV delivered by the LHC and recorded by the ATLAS detector is presented

Diffusion of heavy quarks in the early stage of high-energy nuclear collisions [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We study the diffusion of heavy quarks in the early stage of highenergy nuclear collisions. The pre-equilibrium stage of relativistic heavy-ion collisions, commonly known as Glasma, evolves according to the classical Yang-Mills equations.

Peri‐operative rehabilitation in patients undergoing elective cardiac valve surgery: a randomised controlled trial

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 362-372, March 2026.
Summary Introduction Patients with valvular heart disease are at high risk of postoperative pulmonary complications, which contribute to morbidity and mortality. However, few studies have focused specifically on peri‐operative rehabilitation in this patient population.

RELATIVISTIC QUARK MODEL

open access: yesFizika B : a journal of experimental and theoretical physics, 1999
A general Lorentz-covariant quark model of mesons, whose nonrelativistic limit corresponds to Isgur-Scora-Grinstein-Wise model, is constructed. It possesses the heavy quark symmetry and can be easily applied to calculation of form factors. Besides it can be engaged in novel tasks, such a the investigation of the two photon decay of scalar mesons.

Constituent Quarks and Current Quarks [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Quarks have been used in hadronic physics both as a constituent model for the hadrons and as a model for their electromagnetic and weak currents.
