The colour of quarks [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1996
It is shown that colour can only be defined on gauge invariant states. Since the ability to associate colour with constituent quarks is an integral part of the constituent quark model, this means that, if we want to extract constituent quarks from QCD, we need to dress Lagrangian quarks with gluons so that the result is gauge invariant.

Search for the QCD Critical Point with Fluctuations of Conserved Quantities in Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions at RHIC

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Fluctuations of conserved quantities are predicted to be sensitive observables to probe the QCD phase transition and critical point in heavy-ion collisions.

Design of Proprietary Frameworks for Neural Models: Methodology and Best Practices

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Computing Systems
The creation of proprietary frameworks for the development of neural models is essential to meet specific needs that generic frameworks cannot address. This article examines the key stages in the design of these frameworks and offers best practices for ...

Quark and Creativity [PDF]

open access: yes2019 8th Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO), 2019
This short address covers issues of importance for the discovery of quark and puts stress on the process of inducing the creativity that led to this great invention, treated as the most crucial for the further development of various brances of physics.

Electrochemiluminescence of Heteroleptic Iridium(III) Complexes Featuring Substituted 2,4‐diphenylpyridinato Ligands

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Five heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes bearing cyclometalated 2,4‐diphenylpyridinato ligands were synthesized and their electrochemiluminescence (ECL) investigated. Two different coreactants were evaluated: tri‐n‐propylamine and benzoyl peroxide under anodic and cathodic potentials, respectively.

Open heavy flavor measurements at STAR

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
In relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC, heavy quarks are expected to be created from initial hard scatterings. Since heavy quarks have large masses, long life time, and negligible annihilation due to their small population, the number of heavy ...

Generalized Beth–Uhlenbeck Entropy Formula From the Φ‐Derivable Approach

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We derive a generalized Beth–Uhlenbeck formula for the entropy of a dense fermion system with strong two‐particle correlations, including scattering states and bound states. We work within the Φ‐derivable approach to the thermodynamic potential.
