Elementary Steps of Energy Conversion in Strongly Correlated Systems: Beyond Single Quasiparticles and Rigid Bands

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This article reviews the fundamental consequences of strong correlations on excitations and elementary steps of energy conversion leading to new opportunities to control energy conversion. Examples include friction at surfaces, thermal transport, and photovoltaic energy conversion.

A Co‐Self‐Assembled Monolayer With Enhanced Coverage and Defect Passivation for Efficient Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study achieved a co‐self‐assembled monolayer (Co‐SAM) with more uniform coverage on nickel oxide substrates and enhanced passivation of buried interfaces by incorporating 4PABCz into Me‐4PACz. Perovskite solar cells fabricated with this Co‐SAM achieved an efficiency of 26.33% and exhibited enhanced stability. The combination of nickel oxide (NiOx)

On Oxalyl Halide Isothiocyanates Part II: Decarbonylation and Reactivity Studies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Thermal decarbonylation of oxalyl halide isothiocyanates affords the respective carbonyl halide isothiocyanates as liquids. Crystals grown from melt allowed the elucidation of their crystal structures. Spectroscopic signatures (IR, Raman, NMR) are presented alongside reactivity studies. The reaction of oxalyl halide isothiocyanate, X(CO)2NCS (X = Cl (1)

Layer Geometry Modulation in Cu(II) Coordination Networks Based on Disubstituted Bis(imidazolyl)benzene Ligands

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Cu(II)‐based two‐dimensional coordination networks constructed from bis(imidazolyl)benzene ligands show how subtle changes in counteranion identity modulate layer geometry, stacking, and stability. Single‐crystal structures combined with bulk syntheses reveal distinct packing efficiencies and framework responses to humidity, vacuum, and temperature for

Full‐scale Shaking Table Tests on a 10‐story Steel Moment‐resisting Frame Building with Buckling‐restrained Braces

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In February 2023, a comprehensive series of shaking table tests were conducted at the E‐Defense facility, the world's largest three‐dimensional earthquake simulator, on a full‐scale 10‐story steel moment‐resisting frame supplemented with BRBs.
