Mechanisms of Anode Interfacial Phenomena and Multi‐perspective Optimization in Aqueous Alkaline Zinc‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐air batteries demonstrate great potential for sustainable energy storage but face major anode‐related challenges. This review provides a mechanism‐driven overview of zinc anode interfacial issues, e.g. dendrite formation, passivation, self‐corrosion, and hydrogen evolution; and explores advances in electrode, surface, and electrolyte engineering ...

Electrochemically Driven Tandem In‐Plane Reduction and FeCl3‐ Intercalation of Highly Crystalline Graphene Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a green processing route for high‐performance reduced graphene oxide (rGO) transparent conductive films (TCFs) using highly crystalline Brodie's GO. In‐plane electrochemical reduction forms rGO on insulating substrates without toxic reductants or heat. Subsequent FeCl₃ intercalation enhances conductivity, overcoming the transparency–

Quartz textural and trace-element geochemical constraints on the origin of lode gold deposits: a case study of the Yanzhupo deposit in Jiangnan Orogen (South China)

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Jiangnan Orogen (South China) is endowed with many important gold deposits, whose genesis remains controversial. The Yanzhupo is a representative gold deposit (2.50 t Au @ 2.52 g/t) in the Jiangnan Orogen, characterized by multi-stage quartz ...

Measurements of the short-term stability of quartz crystal resonators: A window on future developments in crystal oscillators [PDF]

open access: yes
Recent measurements of the inherent short-term stability of quartz crystal resonators are presented. These measurements show that quartz resonators are much more stable for times less than 1s than the best available commercial quartz oscillators.

Colloidal Opaline Composites as Throughput‐Scalable, Fully Transparent, and Color‐Tunable Radiative Cooling Exterior Films for Outdoor Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Particular thermal metamaterials are widely used as daytime radiative coolers merely by embedding thermally emissive nanoparticles (NPs) in liquid resins to form scalable, yet highly efficient cooling films in a cost‐effective way. However, randomly dispersed NPs, prevalently used thus far, cause strong scattering, limiting NP content and cooling ...

Single‐Step Electrochemical Battery Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the use of single‐step recovery, an electrochemical process combining electrodeposition and electro‐dissolution, to recover lithiated transition metal oxides (LTMOs). The batteries produced through this recycling method perform similarly to batteries made from pristine materials.
