Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Advances in Interface Circuits for Self-Powered Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Systems: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesSensors
This paper presents a comprehensive summary of recent advances in circuit topologies for piezoelectric energy harvesting, leading to self-powered systems (SPSs), covering the full-bridge rectifier (FBR) and half-bridge rectifier (HBR), AC-DC converters ...

Resolving Quartz Overloading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Quartz is a new declarative hardware description language with polymorphism, overloading, higher-order combinators and a relational approach to data flow, supporting formal reasoning for design verification in the same style as the Ruby language. The combination of parametric polymorphism and overloading within the language involves the implementation ...

Moving Beyond Oligoethers: Polar Side‐Chain Engineering for Aqueous Mixed Ionic–Electronic Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate how side‐chain chemistry and hydrogen bonding affect electrochemical doping in poly(propylenedioxythiophene) polymers. Replacing oligoether side chains with hydroxyl or carboxylic acid groups nearly triples electrochemical conductivity.

QUARTZ FIBER ULTRAMICROBALANCE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 1972
Design and operation of a quartz fiber cytoanalytical balance are described. The 2-µ fiber, 3-4 mm long, is mounted in a V-shaped notch in an aluminum slide for use on an ordinary microscope. The deflection is measured with the focusing adjustment by viewing through thin glass windows, which are flush with the surfaces of the slide.

Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

Quartz aggregates revisited [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section A Foundations of Crystallography, 2006
Quartz aggregates that formed by coalescence of quartz crystals in the magma or in hydrothermal solution are considered. If the individuals have rhombohedral faces in contact, there will be two special cases: parallel intergrowths and intergrowths that agree in orientation and contact plane with Esterel twins grown from a twinned nucleus. For all other
