Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) used as humidity sensor

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2000
This paper describes an application of Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) used as humidity sensor. Moisture apparition is detected by using a QCM associated with a Peltier module. When water condensation produced by the Peltier cooling appears on the QCM, a change of mass on the crystal sensitive surface results in the decrease of the resonant frequency.

Detection of two orchid viruses using quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) immunosensors

Journal of Virological Methods, 2002
Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) immunosensors are based on the principle that adsorption of substances on the surface of a quartz crystal changes its resonance oscillation frequency. A QCM immunosensor was developed for the detection of both cymbidium mosaic potexvirus (CymMV) and odontoglossum ringspot tobamovirus (ORSV) by pre-coating the QCMs with

An integrated dielectrophoretic quartz crystal microbalance (DEP-QCM) device for rapid biosensing applications

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2007
A factor limiting the detection time of biological particles using a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) system is the kinetics of the particles arriving within the sensing region of the crystal surface. A device has been developed which, for the first time, combines ac electro-kinetic particle manipulation with simultaneous acoustic sensing on an ...

A room temperature supramolecular-based quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) methane gas sensor

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2009
A supramolecular cryptophane-A-based quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) gas sensor has been developed. Supramolecular cryptophane-A was synthesized from vanillyl alcohol using a double trimerisation method and deposited on a QCM device via electrospray method.

Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring (QCM-D)

2019
Quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D) can detect changes in oscillating frequency of a quartz crystal as well as in energy dissipation of adsorption material. For example, a decreased frequency results from an increased adsorption amount, while an increased dissipation results from an increased viscoelasticity of the ...
