Quartz-Crystal Microbalance (QCM) for Public Health: An Overview of Its Applications.
Advances in protein chemistry and structural biology, 2015Nanobiotechnologies, from the convergence of nanotechnology and molecular biology and postgenomics medicine, play a major role in the field of public health. This overview summarizes the potentiality of piezoelectric sensors, and in particular, of quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM), a physical nanogram-sensitive device. QCM enables the rapid, real time,

On the accuracy of the quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM) in thin-film depositions
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1997Abstract The quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM) is traditionally used as a thin-film deposition monitor. The most commonly used monitor crystal is AT-cut quartz vibrating in its thickness shear mode. The mass of the deposited film on the quartz crystal's surface is indicated by the change of its resonance frequency.

Development of a QCM (Quartz Crystal Microbalance) biosensor to detection of mycotoxins
2014In this study, we have used a direct immunoassay where the simple binding between antigen and an antibody is detected. Immunoassays were performed in a drop system, monitoring the decrease in the frequency of the quartz crystal microbalance device as the mass increases during immunoreaction.

Measurement of Molecular Contamination for Satellites Using a Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM)
Journal of the IEST, 2004Quartz Crystal Microbalances (QCMs) have been used to measure the molecular contamination for satellites in vacuum bake-out tests at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). Through measurement using QCMs, the mass and the mass deposition rate of molecular contamination could be traced in real-time.

Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) as a device for the screening of phage libraries.
Biosensors & bioelectronics, 1999An immunosensing system based on a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) is presented for the selection of both antigen specific recombinant antibodies and antigen specific human pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor (hPSTI) mutants isolated from large phage libraries.

2017 First International Conference on Landmine: Detection, Clearance and Legislations (LDCL), 2017
Actual research concerning the detection of explosive materials is suggesting different methods and the use of different kind of sensors. The QCM method, for example, has become a subject of interest because of its high sensitivity and accuracy in biomolecules detection in terms of Nanogram.

Quartz Crystal Microbalance - QCM
2009The Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) technique determines mass density and viscoelastic properties of a system in contact with a quartz sensor by measuring the characteristic impedance of the acoustic resonator. The measured quantities are either the complete impedance structure or the resonance frequency and a parameter associated with damping, e.g ...

Humidity Sensor Based on Polymer Coated Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM)
First International Conference on Integration and Commercialization of Micro and Nanosystems, Parts A and B, 2007Humidity sensors featured by the combination of a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) film were fabricated. PVP films were distributed onto the electrode surfaces of quartz crystal by drop-coating. The electrical characteristics of the devices as a function of relative humidity (RH %) measured in the airtight testing ...

Affinity Measurements of Antibody Fragments on Phage by Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM)
2001U The screening of large combinatorial phage display gene libraries usually leads to a set of diverse recombinant antibody fragment clones specifically binding to the antigen which have to be characterised further and ranked for their usefulness. Beside specificity, the key parameter to be determined is the affinity to the antigen.
