Correlation between crystal structure and superconductivity in LaO0.5F0.5BiS2

open access: yes, 2013
Correlation between crystal structure and superconducting properties of the BiS2-based superconductor LaO0.5F0.5BiS2 was investigated. We have prepared LaO0.5F0.5BiS2 polycrystalline samples with various lattice constants. It was found that the annealing

Medical Fabrics with Non‐Antibiotic, Supramolecular Antimicrobial Coatings: A Preventive Approach to Combat Biofilm Formation and Bacterial Dissemination

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents an antibiotic‐free strategy using medical fabrics coated with supramolecular assemblies of polyarginine and hyaluronic acid. These coatings showed strong antimicrobial and anti‐biofilm activity in vitro and in vivo, achieving major bacterial load reductions, including against MRSA.

Taming the Immiscibility of Gold, Iron, and Boron to Craft Chemodegradable Nanoparticles for Multimodal Imaging and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers

Flexible Polypyrrole‐Based pH Sensors via Oxidative Chemical Vapor Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidative chemical vapor deposition (oCVD) of polypyrrole (PPy) thin films yields flexible, electrically conductive, and biocompatible pH sensors for monitoring on‐skin biological events. The highly sensitive, oCVD PPy skin‐conformal sensors enable real‐time, spatially resolved sensing of dynamic pH changes within physiologically relevant ranges (4–9 ...

Use of alternative waste materials in producing ultra-high performance concrete

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
In a corrosive environment similar to that of the Arabian Gulf, use of high-performance concrete is one of the options to ensure a target service life of concrete structures. However, in absence of good quality coarse aggregates, it is a challenging task

Unravelling the Atomic Structure of a Metal‐Covalent Organic Framework Assembled from Ruthenium Metalloligands

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Metal‐covalent organic frameworks (MCOFs) are novel porous materials that exhibit the advantages of covalent and metal‐organic frameworks. However, it is extremely difficult to resolve their atomic structure and better understand their structure‐properties relation. This work utilizes a synergistic combination of advanced microscopy, spectroscopic, and

Indexing of Laue Back Reflection for Quartz Crystal and Singularity Evaluation of Zn Metal Thin Film

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2010
Laue back reflection patterns for quartz crystal are indexed by using Orient Express- program to simulate orientation of single crystals from assignment of principle zones. An oriented quartz single crystal was used as a substrate to deposit Zn metal by
