Eigenmodes of a quartz tuning fork and their application to photoinduced force microscopy
We examine the mechanical eigenmodes of a quartz tuning fork (QTF) for the purpose of facilitat- ing its use as a probe for multi-frequency atomic force microscopy (AFM). We perform simulations based on the three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) and compare the observed motions of the beams with experimentally measured resonance frequencies of ...

Rapid Joule heating induces Ni—Fe exsolution from perovskite oxides, forming Ni–Fe/oxide heterointerfaces that enhance photothermal CO2 methanation activity and selectivity. Achieving selective CO2 methanation under photothermal conditions requires catalysts capable of maintaining non‐equilibrium interfacial states that balance reduction and oxidation ...

Quartz Tuning Fork: Thermometer, Pressure- and Viscometer for Helium Liquids
Commercial quartz oscillators of the tuning-fork type with a resonant frequency of similar to 32 kHz have been investigated in helium liquids. The oscillators are found to have at best Q values in the range 10(5)-10(6), when measured in vacuum below 1.5 ...

This study investigates how subtle aliphatic substituent differences in racemic cinnamyl 2‐aminoanilides affect chiral recognition on amylose tris(3,5‐dimethylphenylcarbamate). Pronounced enantioselectivity changes arose from minimal structural variations. Mobile phase effects were examined, with 2‐propanol improving resolution.
