2023Abstract The chapter explores the development of new exact tuning-fork frequency-measuring standards useful for the novel range of radio communication during WWI and its aftermath, and the construction of the first electronic clock required to monitor the accuracy of such a standard.

Laser & Photonics ReviewsWe propose and demonstrate a standoff light‐induced thermoelastic spectroscopy (standoff‐LITES) sensor for the first time. An encased quartz tuning fork (QTF) was employed in the standoff‐LITES sensor to improve the frequency stability.

Thirty Fifth Annual Frequency Control Symposium, 1981Summary We have developed high frequency quartz tuning fork crystals using different overtone flexure modes over the frequency range from 15OKHz to lMHz. These quartz tuning fork crystals were produced by using photolithographic, chemical etching and laser frequency adjustment manufacturing techniques, and packaged in a relatively small ceramic package.
