We study high-resolution spectra of the "overlapping-trough'' low-ionization broad absorption line (LoBAL) quasar SDSS J030000.56+004828.0. The Ca II, Mg II, and Mg I column densities in this object are the largest reported to date for any BAL outflow ...

High-Resolution Optical Spectroscopy of Radio Broad Absorption Line Quasars
2010We present high-resolution optical spectroscopy of several high-redshift BAL (Broad Absorption Line) quasars: 0844+0503, at redshift z=3.3465, which has a known radio counterpart observed by the VLA FIRST survey; 0908+0658, at redshift z=3.0734, with no radio detection recorded in the NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED); and 0217–0854, at redshift z=

Unusual high-redshift radio broad absorption-line quasar 1624+3758 [PDF]
We present observations of the most radio-luminous broad absorption-line (BAL) quasar known, 1624+3758, at redshift z= 3.377. The quasar has several unusual properties. (1) The Fe II UV191 1787-Å emission line is very prominent.
