Identities in the Algebra of Partial Maps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the identities of a variety of semigroup-related algebras modelling the algebra of partial maps. We show that the identities are intimately related to a weak semigroup deductive system and we show that the equational theory is decidable.

Strong z°-Submodules of a Module

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2023
Let R be a commutative ring with an identity. The purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate the notion of strong z°-submodules of an R-module as an extension of z°-submodules and quasi z°-submodules.

Quasi-identities of finite semigroups and symbolic dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Mathematics, 1995
An algebra is called inherently non-finitely \((Q-)\) based if it is not contained in any locally finite and finitely based (quasi-)variety. \textit{M. V. Sapir} first proved that there exist finite inherently non-finitely based semigroups [Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 51, No.

Alienation and Identity Maintenance in Quasi-Total Institutions

open access: yesThe Journal for Undergraduate Ethnography, 2016
A great body of work exists within sociology concerning the role and character of total institutions. However, the existing research primarily concerns either seemingly benevolent versions of such institutions or more absolute realizations of total ...

Generalized fractional inequalities for quasi-convex functions

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
The class of quasi-convex functions contain all those finite convex functions which are defined on finite closed intervals of real line. The aim of this paper is to establish the bounds of the sum of left and right fractional integral operators using ...

Vertex operator algebras and operads [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Vertex operator algebras are mathematically rigorous objects corresponding to chiral algebras in conformal field theory. Operads are mathematical devices to describe operations, that is, $n$-ary operations for all $n$ greater than or equal to $0$, not ...

Finite simple monogenic entropic quasigroups with quasi-identity

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2011
Abstract In this paper we describe finite simple monogenic entropic quasigroups with quasi-identity.

Admissibility via Natural Dualities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
It is shown that admissible clauses and quasi-identities of quasivarieties generated by a single finite algebra, or equivalently, the quasiequational and universal theories of their free algebras on countably infinitely many generators, may be ...

Quasi-Development as an Illusion of Personal Growth

open access: yesChanging Societies & Personalities, 2023
This article explores the concept of quasi-development from theoretical, methodological, and empirical perspectives. The study consists of two parts, examining the components and functional manifestations of quasi-development. A theoretical definition of

Partial maps with domain and range: extending Schein's representation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The semigroup of all partial maps on a set under the operation of composition admits a number of operations relating to the domain and range of a partial map. Of particular interest are the operations R and L returning the identity on the domain of a map
