Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Multiquadric quasi-interpolation is an efficient high-dimensional approximation algorithm. It can directly obtain the approximation term and its derivatives without solving any large-scale linear equations.

Implicit cubic B-spline scheme for the fractional Black-Scholes model with Caputo-Hadamard derivative [PDF]
In this study, we introduce a novel numerical scheme for solving the Black–Scholes equation endowed with a Caputo-Hadamard fractional time derivative. The temporal derivative is discretized via a finite-difference approach, ensuring both stability and ...

Effortless quasi-interpolation in hierarchical spaces [PDF]
The authors present here the construction of the hierarchical quasi-interpolants, the analysis of the hierarchical space, and the study of its local approximation power in terms of truncated tensor-product polynomial B-splines (cf. [\textit{C. Giannelli} et al., Comput. Aided Geom. Des. 29, No. 7, 485--498 (2012; Zbl 1252.65030)]).

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Product quasi-interpolation in logarithmically singular integral equations
A discrete high order method is constructed and justified for a class of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind with kernels that may have boundary and logarithmic diagonal singularities.

Quantitative Anderson localization of Schr\"odinger eigenstates under disorder potentials
This paper concerns spectral properties of linear Schr\"odinger operators under oscillatory high-amplitude potentials on bounded domains. Depending on the degree of disorder, we prove the existence of spectral gaps amongst the lowermost eigenvalues and ...

On a quasi-interpolating Bernstein operator
A special case of the modification of Lagrange interpolation due to Bernstein is considered as follows: \[ B_{n}(f,x) := B_{n,1}(f,x) = \sum_{i=1}^{[n/2]} \, f(x_{2i-1}) \{ l_{2i-1}(x)+l_{2i}(x) \} + (n-2[n/2]) f(x_{n}) l_{n}(x), \] where \(x_{i} := x_{in} = \cos t_{i},\) \(t_{i} := \frac{2i-1}{2n} \pi,\) \(i = 1,2,\ldots, n\) are the roots of the ...
