Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...

Taming the Immiscibility of Gold, Iron, and Boron to Craft Chemodegradable Nanoparticles for Multimodal Imaging and Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Over half of cancer patients undergo radiotherapy. Laser ablation enabled the synthesis of immiscible Au‐Fe‐B nanoparticles designed as degradable bimodal radiosensitizers for X‐ray radiotherapy (XRT), boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and bimodal imaging for X‐ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These nanosensitizers

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF TWO-STEP AND QUASI MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD ESTIMATION IN THE DYNAMIC FACTOR MODEL FOR NOWCASTING GDP GROWTH IN INDONESIA

open access: yesBarekeng
Economic activity data is needed quickly to make policy decisions, but this data suffers from publication delays. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data is released within five weeks after the end of the quarter.

Flexible Polypyrrole‐Based pH Sensors via Oxidative Chemical Vapor Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidative chemical vapor deposition (oCVD) of polypyrrole (PPy) thin films yields flexible, electrically conductive, and biocompatible pH sensors for monitoring on‐skin biological events. The highly sensitive, oCVD PPy skin‐conformal sensors enable real‐time, spatially resolved sensing of dynamic pH changes within physiologically relevant ranges (4–9 ...

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Likelihood-Related Estimation Methods and Non-Gaussian GARCH Processes [PDF]

open access: yes
This article discusses the finite distance properties of three likelihood-based estimation strategies for GARCH processes with non-Gaussian conditional distributions : (1) the maximum likelihood approach ; (2) the Quasi maximum Likelihood approach ; (3 ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Parameter estimation in stochastic oscillators based on transition probability function decomposition

open access: yesOpen Physics
The problem of parameter estimation in stochastic oscillators is considered using a decomposition of the transition probability density in terms of Hermite polynomials.
